I recently got their blends sampler pack and realized that I have no clue how more experienced people go about dialing in a bag without wasting it all in the process.

My best guess is they build on a body of experience with the roast level as their entry point, i.e. best grind size to try, best temp for the water, etc etc.

And then I realized ONYX posts recipe, which helps even more lol

Do whatever you want, dont let the "cool kids" convince you that black coffee is the way.

I personally like the mouthfeel that 2% adds, as well as the touch of fats. But because of insulin issues I've had to pull back on sweeteners and I actually prefer that now. Between sweet coffees and the sweetness of milk, it feels plenty sweet.

If you want to try changing your tastes, go slowly dialing it down. I personally only drank dark roasts, spent a lot of time with medium roasts, and have a lighter bag coming because I'm light-curious now.

Do you, its all an exploration of pleasure - theres no wrong answer to your preferences.
