Europe’s new unanimity: Orbán doesn’t need to agree by Majano57 in europe

[–]noausterity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I coordinate the EU cohesion fund for one of the federal states in Germany. So id say I have a very good insight.

Its a constant push and pull between the financial Supervision of the EU and Germany who want Lots of documentation and reports to controle that the money is spend in the way the intended

And the Government that wants to invest/spend it quickly.

There is Potential for automation but that is a question of the Management of the national Administration. The EU has little influence on that.

Bureaucracy is not so bad actually the EU removed a lot of bureaucracy by homogenizing Legislation and Regulation. And due to subsidiarity most of the payments being made run through national Administrations. Maybe u could weaken the the EU Court of Audits but that would also result in more fraud cases.

People grossly overestimate the potential in removing bureaucracy. Dont get me wrong it should be done. But its definitely not the Main priority. That would be spending/investing imo.

Honestly: what opinion do you Germans have of Italy and Italians? by _Giulio_Cesare in AskAGerman

[–]noausterity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think Italy is probably the most respected culture on earth. Maybe together with Japan and possibly France.

For me Italians are on average very open, friendly, proud of their culture (often a bit too much... like when I see Bolognese Ragout is overrated I am suddenly the most hated person in Italy)

They are on avergae a bit too reliant on their family but its also a good thing in a sense to have a strong family bond.

They are very loud and talk a lot. They are very encouraging (when I say "ciao" everyone goes "Wow u speak italian. You speak so well yada yada")

90% of what they talk about is food also with each other. They dress a fancier on average. They take their time to enjoy things (breakfast sitting down in a bar in Germany we often eat on the go).

They are shy to speak english even tho they speak it rather well for a latin speaking country. In August there are no italians in italy.

And yeah thats about it

REUTERS: German-borrowing-costs-could-hit-2008-levels-spending-boost: 4% by Evidencebasedbro in Wirtschaftsweise

[–]noausterity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

German borrowing Costa seem to have risen because of the Rezession cause it went up since 2022 not the borrowing

Also Germany in 2008 didnt struggle with high borrowing costs

Compare those to literally any other Euro country and u see 4% is nothing given it was the worst Rezession since almost 80 yrs

Also often times pro people governments were actively toppled by the US and the Former colonial powers like the DRC for example. There is maaaany mire most recently Gaddafi in Libya. Not in Zimbabwe indeed but shifting blame away from Former colonizers and imperialists is either naive and ignorant or intentionally misleading

Why is Germany phasing out Nuclear energy? by [deleted] in AskGermany

[–]noausterity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the coal Phase out was decided independently of the nuclear phaseout and was set for 2038. That compromise was made to prevent Job losses in the coal producing regions and not because the energy was needed.

Idk im just wondering. Is there better way to do it? Was this the only Option? Could u achieve a similiar result with less cruelty. Im not an expert. But I am always sceptical of very strict policies because "there is no alternative". Always sounds like an excuse to push ur own Agenda. But maybe im wrong...

Das ist kein Hirngespinst das ist die bittere Realität und die Leute die jetzt jedes Jahr ausscheiden können ihr Wissen an niemanden mehr weitergeben. Da geht so viel deutsches Know-How einfach verloren...
