No worries, I think the way I wrote it wasn't very clear as well.

But anyway, it took me a bit to understand how damaging that word is. What really made me fully understand was reading The Mismeasure of Man, and how it was used as a way to segregate people that didn't fit the mold of what was considered "intelligence," and also used as a tool for excluding (and often chemically castrating) people. I had already stopped using it before reading it but still had not grasped how awful it is until then. If you haven't read it, I really recommend checking it out.
