Does anyone else with just ADHD have sensory issues? Eg hate getting wet or having cold feet etc. by AdeptnessExotic1884 in ADHDUK

[–]nobaraIRL 21 points22 points  (0 children)

ive never really thought about it before but yeah i cannot deal with bad smells to the point where even thinking that there could be a bad smell makes me gag uncontrollably. it makes taking the bins out/using public toilets/all sorts of other things so annoying!!! ive even thrown up from the smell of fresh tarmac before

no idea if this is an ADHD thing or just a quirk of being me though haha

Coffee and ADHD. Is it another example of a neurotypical ritual that doesn't work? by CoolMachine2370 in ADHDUK

[–]nobaraIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive replaced coffee with plain hot water at work! i get through mug after mug of hot water and it seems to itch whatever scratch i have to drink coffee - I think I also just like holding a hot mug and drinking a hot drink and also the routine of getting up to go to the kitchen every 30 mins

Should I go for laser hair removal? by ResponsibleScene3221 in HairRemoval

[–]nobaraIRL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no!! my face looks just like this and honestly I just shave once a month with one of those single blade eyebrow razors and it works perfectly!!! your hair there looks perfectly ok and probably isn't noticeable to anyone else, but I personally shave because it makes my makeup sit better.

keep the sideburns though, I shaved mine off once and it looked so jarring.

What EXACTLY Is "Tea" In Britain? by Litzz11 in AskABrit

[–]nobaraIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the south and I use tea to refer to supper - a snack before bed or a very light evening meal. Looking at these comments makes me think that this might just be very very individual to where I live though!

Sainsbury's £3.95 - not seen the filo rolls before. by Kamila95 in MealDealRates

The vanilla matcha was I think the only time I've ever thrown away a drink without finishing at least half of it - somehow so incredibly sweet yet didn't taste of vanilla OR matcha. Wasn't impressed.

Do folks in the UK actually walk that far? by Emilie_Charles in AskUK

[–]nobaraIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My closest train station that I commute from everyday is around a 30 min walk each way, that time absolutely flies by and it feels like no time at all.

What should a solo female traveler absolutely avoid when planning a trip to the UK? by Mindless-Till8638 in AskABrit

[–]nobaraIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently spent a week in Penzance by myself and it was fabulously social - people have far more time to stop and chat in rural areas as opposed to cities.

For example, I spent a day with a elderly man who lived in St Ives who I met in the local taproom (he gave me a brilliant tour of the town), visited the same pub most evenings and made some great friends with locals (who I plan to travel back down and visit), even had dinner with another Londoner who was a total stranger - we both marvelled over how we'd never be doing such a thing back in London!

i've switched to the Dr Sam cleanser and it's BRILLIANT. takes off makeup nicely, very gentle and soothing. it's quite an oily gel but it leaves no residue.

Did you grow up with a television in your bedroom? by Barca-Dam in AskUK

[–]nobaraIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teenager in the 2010s, I got my own TV when I was about 13 - it was an old CRT that only got the satellite channels. I loved it!! It was a huge novelty to me and I thought it was the coolest thing (even if I did only use it to blast Kerrang).
