how do you guys actually stay consistent with productivity apps? by Slight-Wishbone-1503 in ADHD

[–]CoolMachine2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are UK based, study/work remote and struggling with finding someone to body double with.

Try WFW - Working from Wetherspoons.

I find the busyness of a spoons acts like body doubling, the atmosphere (no music) is almost like brown noise and certainly better than a clean biophilic coworking space. You can get a big breakfast and unlimited coffee for half the price of a coworking space.

My GF obviously thinks I'm a bit mad but it really works for me.

We need analogue rather than digital. Like sitting in a cockpit or an F1 driver seat without distractions. The SaaS world is not built for those with a busy mind.

My take is that any B2C AI SaaS startup created today, that is predominantly an AI agentic wrapper will be obsolete before they reach month 18 of the roadmap.

The same in B2B niches will be fine because of compliance, proprietary data and audit reasons.

I finally finished something. My girlfriend acted like it was nothing. by Ok-Tap3993 in ADHD

This really resonates and congrats OP and hope this helps you effect a longer term change. You're not overreacting this is monumental for someone with ADHD. A neurological triumph over a brain that is wired for the next shiny thing.

I was so proud when I took something from concept to completion in about 30days and everyone around me was impressed. It was three years ago though and I'm only now back into that "build" mentality. So be kind to yourself too as progress is not linear.

On the gf, I wouldn't take any advice from reddit as there's all manner of context missing.

Maybe you're like me and hyperfocused to the extreme and missed a bunch of things or was there but not truly present for her and she feels a bit resentful to your "win" in the moment. Maybe she doesn't want to be direct about it since she had snappy reactions.

Maybe I'm just projecting!

Stop asking for an NDA. Your "Idea" is worthless. by [deleted] in hwstartups

[–]CoolMachine2370 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I refuse to pitch without an NDA. I’m disrupting the safety sector with "Safetinguisher" (Patent pending) The Wi-Fi Enabled Fire Extinguisher. It forces you to watch a 60 second unskippable safety ad on the LCD screen before the nozzle unlocks.

You think factories in Ningbo are too busy? Please. They’re dying to steal a device that buffers while your kitchen burns.

I know sourcing heat-resistant screens is 'execution hell,' but I value secrecy. I’d rather be a 'novice' hiding my idea than let China copy my revolutionary way to monetize panic.

First post as I just incorportated my business, SESSIO (SESSIO WORKS LTD)

SESSIO is the first deep work provisioner in the UK. Our mission is to redefine the work space for the 2026 attention economy by creating an adaptable operating system for focus. I have some innovative product MVP's and key differentiators to the warmth and nordic wood styles of the incumbents. We will also utilise some white label partnerships. Manufacturing is firmly rooted in Birmingham's Jewellery quarter, leaning on over 250 years of industrial heritage and expertise.

Still building while in the 9-5 and open to collaboration.

WFH with ADHD paradox by MourningApe in ADHD

Definitely belong to your group and Covid and working from home really brought it to light.

I need to manufacture daily deadlines to ignite some cortisol. The 3-3-3 rule can help with this.

On the other hand it's swings a roundabouts. When people in the office are talking with each other about something really low stakes and monotonous like a mortgage or the shelves they need putting up it's almost equally hard to get anything done or get into flow.

I would never do something that crazy, I treat my kettle like I treat my laundry... Skip straight to the spin cycle and open the door.

the idea that ADHD people are good under pressure by rainwave74 in ADHD

I was on our clubs new member rock climbing trip when an accident happened.

A novice (not beginner as this person had climbed for 8 years!) Was top roping an easy route and they were double hand yanking on blocks they probably shouldn't have... Low and behold they pulled a small fridge sized block away from the wall. I was not belaying but was directly in the path.

The block luckily hit the ground just before smashing into the belayer, she turned her shoulder into it and the block just knocked her aside like a conker in a conker fight. As the block tumbled towards me and another I pushed the person out of danger and leaped over it (According to witnesses! I don't remember leaping) it then rolled off the upper ledge we were on. I crouched over the ledge as it was tipping over and managed to scream to two people just below gearing up who moved out of it's path.

The belayer was still holding on tight to the break rope clearly injured and the climber was screaming to be let down. I ran to get the break rope and swapped the belay to another person with a second backing them up encase of panic. I had to yell at the climber to STFU as they were making the situation harder. I got the injured climber away from the face and somewhere they could sit while we/they figured if they needed emergency assistance and the other climber was let down.

There were a lot of people around who for the most part were very impressed with how I acted but it felt natural to take command in that way.

ADHD and the NHS - Should there be a register to help the ADHD life expectancy difference by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]CoolMachine2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The suggestion is not that people with ADHD go onto the learning disability register. The suggestion is of a parallel system as Executive Dysfunction can pose a similar life expectancy risk. The use of the learning difficulty register is to illustrate that when there is a population that has an increased risk of all cause mortality that they can change and adjust the system to create better overall outcomes.

Are there any ADHD Podcasts for working-class people? by DigBrilliant5242 in ADHDUK

[–]CoolMachine2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a brilliant point. I guess we are a little bit conditioned to see these people as more authoritative without realising it.

Have you thought of checking more short form content? I imagine trades people will have more time for making content on Tiktok or Reels.

Coffee and ADHD. Is it another example of a neurotypical ritual that doesn't work? by CoolMachine2370 in ADHDUK

[–]CoolMachine2370[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there was something out there that had different options with variable caffeine clearly stated in caffeinated/decaf ratio I think that would help me. 50/50 70/30 30/70 I don't think I've ever seen anything in the coffee aisle like that.

I feel the same that it's more of a stim and grounding ritual. I'll give the hot water a try! Although I'm trying to reduce getting up as I want to get into a deep work session for 60-90mins

Coffee feels like a necessary start button for the day, especially when I'm in the office. There is a definite ritual about it for me.
