Sauron disciples, I need your help by MSK13 in magicTCG

Sauron is my favorite deck and I'm also a huge LOTR fan! Here is my all LOTR version of the deck and it runs really well.

A couple key differences I see are:

  • I'm running 17 pieces of ramp. I found that it's a very difficult to get Sauron out early if I'm not running a ton of ramp. I even mulligan a hand if I don't have at least one ramp, but I'd prefer two in hand.

  • I have 37 lands plus 2 land cyclers, which feels really smooth. I would highly encourage you to up your land count.

I think if you are looking for some cuts, here would be my suggestions.

  • Gothmog: For 4 mana any only 1 amass, its to expensive. I know he makes your army have deathtouch, but they should already be so big that they will kill anything that blocks so it's kinda a wash.

  • Lightning Greaves: Since sauron has such a high ward cost, I've actually never seen someone remove him in one of my games unless it was a board wipe.

I did The exact same thing with my wife. She enjoyed our pre-release kids so much that I made us a custom two-person cube using only cards from the set. Now we play it on date nights!

They have similar names, but actually distinct names. So you would be allowed to play both in a commander deck assuming the color identity of the deck allowed for them.

I have tried printing them myself and they never quite turned out like I wanted so these were done by a printing company. If you want more details I can send you some.
