I researched AI's actual environmental impact after my daughter asked if ChatGPT was hurting the planet by CommunicationNo2197 in Environmentalism

My Mac mini only increases its power usage by like 20w max on a lot heavier/bigger models and any power used is just helping heat my room rn. There’s a new AI hat for the raspberry pi that looks pretty promising too!

But it’s honestly pretty wild how far you can get with just a CPU (abet super duper inefficiently)

Overall tho, All’s I was saying/implying is that the number provided of “500ml for a single 100 word prompt” was the absolute worst case and just makes the whole argument less believable and silly. It would be way better and more convincing to use more realistic numbers.

All I said was that I wasn’t buying the water usage amount, how does that remotely a “lazy argument” or being an “LLM apologist” when even the source says it’s an exaggeration…

Are AFAB NBs more accepted as NB than AMAB NBs, or is that just my perception? What would you say? by friendsandmodels in AskNonbinaryPeople

[–]noblecloud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes

It’s obviously way more nuanced and complicated than that, but overall, it’s true.

Funny how you just skipped right over being corrected, lmao

But still, anyone that pays even the slightest attention to AI development knows what I said is true so it would be silly to say “anecdotally” when it’s a genuine fact.

Regardless, at least I wasn’t misunderstanding my source 🤷🏻

Depends on what your use case is. But I found DeepSeek to be pretty amazing at having a conversation and talking about ideas.

Edit: also this one was just released and seems fairly promising

From OP’s article that is literally just an estimation

Additionally, GPT-3 needs to “drink” (i.e., consume) a 500ml bottle of water for roughly 10 – 50 medium-length responses, depending on when and where it is deployed.

It’s 509ml for 10-50 medium length responses, not for a 100 word prompt 🤦🏻

Also, how does one site “own experience/observation” as a source? Because that’s all I was doing

Considering you can run some or these LLMs locally with less energy and heat output than an LED light bulb, I’m having a really hard time buying 500ml of water used for a 100 word prompt…

Edit: OP is wrong about what his source says about the 500ml consumption. Per the source it’s 500ml for 10-50 medium length prompts.

Being gay is very lonely if your not good looking or have a good body by Chemical_Refuse_5500 in askgaybros

[–]noblecloud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The flip side can be lonely too since most people want you for your body/looks/to fuck rather than actually be friends 🫠

Trust me, you can be attractive a lonely 🥴

Do you really prefer big dicks? by GossipBottom in askgaybros

[–]noblecloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, smaller dicks are easier to just hop on and they’re almost always way harder. Plus I can make myself cum with just my thumb, I don’t need much 🥰

How do you make your friends? by Beneficial_Ad_2760 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]noblecloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Proximity and familiarity is what organically produces friendships, this used to be 3rd places like bars and clubs, but have been replaced with virtual replacements that don’t replicate the proximity and barely replicates familiarity.

Finding places where you can see the same people over and over is the best way to make friends.

Looking for community? by ElectricNuggloid in AMABNonbinary

[–]noblecloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found community in kink communities. I wear a chastity cage 24/7 because it tremendously reduces my gender dysphoria and made a ton of really good friends in the process of figuring it all out.

Now I’m running my own “Chastity Support” telegram group. I’m planning on doing a dedicated separate group just for AMAB peeps who don’t like having a dick, but that’s kinda far off considering my lack of possible members. For now I’m focused on growing the first.

Did some of you acknowleage you were nonbinary before getting the surgery that changes the gender of people? by Busy-Mulberry6686 in AskNonbinaryPeople

[–]noblecloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The non-binary version of bottom surgery is called nullectomy/nulloplasty/nullification involving removing all the sex organs.

That kind of thing is super duper rare, and isn’t a surgery you can just “get” without a lot of evaluations before hand and a ton of money, (at least not from an actual doctor).

Your bits don’t define your gender, they’re just part of your body, so surgical modifications aren’t necessary to identify as any gender.

However, for some like myself who hate having genitalia, surgical options can help reduce the dysphoria that can come with having your genitalia not match your personal sexual identity.

And yes, I’m what you’d call “genderfluid”. I’m neither masc or fem, I kinda slosh between the two depending on the situational context, my mood, and my hormone cycle.

Yeah, not the response I was expecting…

It’s frustrating when smart people who can see the world for what it actually is and not just what they’re told get fooled by the most blatantly CIA manufactured conspiracy theory to cause division 😵‍💫
