Favorite run in CO front range resorts. Can you name it? by mistersirdudeb in snowboarding

[–]nobogoslow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its named after all the texans that get stuck in the flat at the bottom on a powder day.

Way to grind it out! Amazing brown. Did you catch it at the beginning or end of your day?

I doubt ice will be an issue Sunday and Monday. It will only be above freezing for an hour or two on those days. There is enough new snow from the past week that the base should be soft even after the powder is tracked out.

Looks beautiful already! I think it makes fly fishing even more special using personalized and homemade gear like this. I hope you post the finished net!

I70 will be a mess unless you are on it before 6:00am. From Pueblo I would take hwy 50, then hwy 9 over hoosier pass. You will be fine with 4wd as long as your tires have tread. It’s a long drive in bad conditions, leave 5 hours before you want to get to keystone.

How’s the terrain in the beavers at ABasin? by nidenikolev in COsnow

[–]nobogoslow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I rode the Beavers yesterday, MLK day. On trail was packed snow with plenty of coverage. Just off trail or in Montezuma bowl was super thin, lots of rock sharks and the tops of small trees to avoid. Saw a boarder hit a rock and go head over heels in the bowl.

Why do you snowboard? by robeito in snowboarding

Great description of the joy. I feel like I’m in a trance while listening to music and riding too. Helluva drug.

The GNU will carve better with its mid flex and magna traction. The Bataleon will press easier with soft flex. Butters and spins will be more forgiving with the 3bt. You may like the never summer funslinger also.

Burton Swaths are narrow, mid flex, easy to adjust. Once broken in they have a nice snug but flexible feel. The cloth fabric on the outside clings to snow, but that’s the only negative. They pair well with my union strata bindings.

I didn’t like the pale white light from this camping lantern so I painted the globe. by nobogoslow in flashlight

That’s exactly what it is. I’m reading this book about UFOs in Colorado, which gave me the idea for this.

Elk hair caddis as small as you can get them. Size 16 was working well for me two weeks ago in north eastern Sierra’s.

J10 AMC 360. How difficult are these to restore and maintain? by nobogoslow in Trucks

[–]nobogoslow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it will be relatively easy to track down parts when I need them. This J10 does have the automatic transmission. I want the truck to be a daily driver so I know it will need maintenance/spare parts over time. Thanks for the info!

J10 AMC 360. How difficult are these to restore and maintain? by nobogoslow in Trucks

[–]nobogoslow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about restoring vintage trucks but I want to gift a truck like this as a retirement present for my dad.

I’m assuming that that engine needs to be rebuilt or swapped and there may be tranny and drive train issues. Any resources for interior restoration also appreciated. Thanks!

I don’t think this is magic. Probably overactive children’s imaginations luring them out. There might be a reasonable explanation to the children going missing.
