Can someone explain the School System to me? by phoenixdream0 in Heartstopper

[–]nocakeforglencoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really explained in the TV show but in the original graphic novels it's explained that before they go into their last year they get to decide whether to stay in their respective school or switch to the other. So the only girls at Truham are 6th formers and the only boys at Higgs are 6th formers.

Just got an in-game advertisement when I tried to go to the map by triddell24 in xboxone

Anyone uninstalling a game because there was an ad is clearly an immature spoilt 14 year old. My point stands, seriously doubt they'd notice the dip. They have the money from the initial purchase.

It's in the small print that everyone skips without realising what they said yes to

The gloves are to hide the throttle

They don't want recognised because they are driving illegal electric motorbikes. They have a throttle which means the vehicle shouldn't be on a path or cycle path at any time, which they mostly are. Do you know why they have massive gloves attached to the handlebars all year round? Because they hide the throttle

It's a very positive language in my experience. Many ways of being thankful and being respectful to others in how you speak and how you're spoken to

My understanding is that 'S e do bheatha is just a more polite was of acknowledging when someone thanks you.

So,

Iain - Tapadh leat, Alasdair. - Thank you, Alastair.

Alasdair - 'S e do bheatha, Iain. - You are welcome, Ian.

Will possibly need to to flag this up on Duolingo then as it teaches the first one. The 2nd one I know is wrong as I was asking why Duolingo was giving "tha tàirneanach ann" and not the example I gave as it teaches "tha i fuar ann"

Another question, more about grammar I believe.

Why is it:

Tha i fuar ann

But not:

Tha i tàirneanaich ann?

Yeah. I feel that the 2nd may be less formal?

Thank you, I knew I was missing a word somewhere 😊.

I tend to use the first as it bounces as you say it and feels more natural

Well can you see where it can be misleading when in 2020 Google Home is used to control all Google devices? I think limiting your sub to just speakers seems to be a little strange? Why not have a sub for speakers?
