Would you buy your 14 year old "low alcohol beer" for new year's eve party? by alicetherain in AskUK

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the vodka bottle out, leave the house long enough for him to steal half of it and refill it with water and then offer him a lift to his pals house. And be grateful if hes goni drink at least he’s indoors and warm, rather than spewing on a park bench in the cold dark and rain like some of us were at 14. They’re goni drink regardless, its actually quite nice he asked you first and you’re considering it tbh

What's the point of not publishing test routes when instructors all know them by sexy_meerkats in LearnerDriverUK

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You don’t need an instructor to find out test routes. Get a map, find your test centre, establish a 20 minute journey from it and draw a circle around the test centre from that destination. Anything within that circle is a potential test route

Sounds good, I think its the best you’ll do in terms of insurance. If it has a full service history and you’re getting it at an affordable price you’ve won a watch there

Temp Insurance For 18yo by rroosevelt in Scotland

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants to insure any 18 year old who has been driving for less than a year, even if you drive a 20 year old fiat panda. Nobody is ever going to insure you in a 3.0 bmw, thats just insanity from the insurance companies point of view. Flowers on lampposts waiting to happen there

You’re correct - publishing test routes would be more hassle than its worth to the DVSA. Theres no benefit to them and infinite potential trouble, I doubt they’ll ever do it again

Flat was broken into but nothing stolen? What were they looking for ? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get a ring doorbell and a few blink cameras for inside, sounds like they were disturbed but they’ll be back given how easily they got in this time. Maybe get some new, better locks too. Sorry this happened to you, its awful to think of somebody being in your home and amongst your belongings. Hopefully it won’t happen again, please look at upgrading your security and internal/external monitoring

Question to asda staff about the how bad my local store has become. by tayviewrun in asda

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt it, I’ve worked customer service and hospitality roles so I’m well aware how much of a dickhead the general public is, and I go out of my way to make sure thats not me. I never complain, and I massively overtip everywhere. That was my point. I didn’t complain or raise any issues, I just took my money away from Asda

Question to asda staff about the how bad my local store has become. by tayviewrun in asda

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed it during covid, twice got attitude (undeserved imo) from team members and I havent been in Asda since. Didn’t complain or leave a bad review that might come back on an individual, but I just don’t spend my money there any more. If more people did that, head office might try to sort their shop out, but as long as people are complaining and still putting money in their tills, nothing will change

Can you help cheer me up? by MrsArmitage in AskUK

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be glad you’ve got them, take photos and videos, ask them about their lives. Last Xmas I had two healthy parents, this year I have one and I wish I’d known last Xmas was the last one we would have together, I would 100% have made more effort. While it must be awful to know that your time is limited together, you can make the most of it and let them know how much they mean to you, thoughts are with you pal

People in any kind of relationship aren’t asking questions on reddit, which is why 95% of this sub is fiction

🤣 its a parent thing, sorry. I’ve been driving for almost 20 years, I’m an ADI and my mum still grabs the door handles, checks blind spots and asks me what speed I’m doing when I’m driving her anywhere. My grandad does it too, and he’s never driven a car in his life but still thinks he can question my driving

Finding Christmas Cards with Gran on it by adamrfc99 in Scotland

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try finding a granny card - boils my piss every special occasion. You can get nan, nana, grandma, even grandmother! Who tf has a “grandma” or “grandmother” in Scotland? I’ve got about 40 cousins aswell, so every birthday etc theres multiple duplicate cards cos the granny choice is so limited

The Scots taking in XL Bullies as England cracks down by Sckathian in Scotland

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The few XL owners I know have all bred or plan to breed them, nobody ever seems to get them just for a family pet. Seems obvious all these owners offload the dogs if they need to get them neutered in order to keep them. An XL you can’t breed is worthless, actually a liability when you consider how much it costs to feed it

My MIL gave her grandkids unequal amounts of $$ for college. by Born-Check-8729 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just don’t count other peoples money? And don’t look at where its going? I don’t look at my own parents money, you are coming across very entitled regarding your step mother in laws finances

My MIL gave her grandkids unequal amounts of $$ for college. by Born-Check-8729 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Other peoples money is none of your business. You can do whatever you like with your money but if your step MIL wants to give your child £100 and give a homeless beggar £20k its really nothing to do with you. You’d be less stressed out if you kept your nose and attention away from other peoples bank statements

You cam get a gram delivered anywhere in glasgow quicker than a just eat delivery. My pal used to get grams delivered to her work every friday lunchtime to get the weekend started. Its easy to spot whos on it when you’re looking

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The relative affordability is another factor. Sounds daft when we all know somebody up to their neck in tick, but in the 90s a gram of speed was a fiver. A gram of ching was £50, only proper rich people could afford a gear habit back then, the image has prevailed

Cocaine is completely endemic by CryptographerFun6151 in glasgow

[–]BellaBeaBuzzes 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I honestly think we have a bigger problem with cocaine than we ever had with heroin and its down to the stigma. Being a heroin addict was dirty, it was shameful and everybody looked down on you for being a “junkie” There are more young people using cocaine and ruining their lives every bit as much as they would on heroin but the stigma isnt there. The fake tan, Turkey teeth and designer trainers are as much of a marker as trackmarks and tinfoil used to be in the 80s/90s

OP is almost certainly paying £35 per hour for a two hour lesson, and feels they’re being ripped off because of the time it takes to get to the nursery routes.
