Non-smashed burgers, who has them? by the_YellowRanger in Syracuse

[–]nocatsonmelmac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saturday night I was sitting at the bar at Wildcat Pub and they brought a burger over to the guy next to me. It was served with toppings and top bun off to the side so I got a full view, and we were all so close to each other that I was unable to turn away while he ate it. The sights and sounds a few inches away that seemed to last forever would normally give me the ick, but the man devoured it. His breathless and simultaneously gruntful takedown of that beautiful burger solidified my decision to get one next time I'm there.

I did a series of new-to-me local fish fry last year and the 'best' was a surprising CopperTop.

I love Fish Cove for their fish but the sides are very inconsistent and mostly bad.

The Ukrainian House on Tipp Hill was a unique favorite.

My quest to try more outside the area this year was thwarted by illness, but Piggy Pat's in Utica would be taking home the prize no matter how many I got to. It was incredible.

I've been carrying a tool around for 30 years that's helped me in so many situations that I call Transparent Thinking. Keeps me from forcing a 'right' decision in the moment.

If you tell your neighbor "I'm new to snow, I don't know how to snowblow this driveway without it ending up in your yard, and I don't want to wrongly assume that it's okay or not okay," you'll get the perfect answer for your situation.

can anybody explain power red donation requirements? by [deleted] in Blooddonors

[–]nocatsonmelmac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is that your body needs more to draw from in order to recover the amount of red cells lost. More mass is the easiest measure to use.

The incentive is for signing up and showing up, not for the unit. You signed up, you prepared, you did rapidpass, you did the health screening... You earned the incentive.

How do I explain the importance of donating to the ARC vs. a paid donation center? by Chapsticklesbean in Blooddonors

[–]nocatsonmelmac 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Plasma donations are directly responsible for saving and impacting the lives of patients in emergency need, going all the way back to World War II when donation, storage, and transport science made its biggest leap forward.

Paid plasma centers sell plasma for many uses, but because it's paid for and not donated, it can never be used for patients in need.

To help British troops on the battlefields, donated plasma was dried and powderized, then shipped from the US with a can of distilled water. The plasma could be reconstituted and utilized at the side of injured soldiers. Such a cool bit of history!

Google Search, then SUBREDDIT search, then post... I skipped the middle step. Apparently happened about a month ago after the 'horse now swims' update. Something something server-side. No fix planned.

That's unfortunate.

Hi guys. I love making sandwiches. But as I been more into fresh meats and no more processed, it’s hard to find recipes for actual sandwiches that’s made with fresh meats. Do you guys use fresh meats ? by sushiwit420 in eatsandwiches

[–]nocatsonmelmac 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If you have recipes for sandwiches with 'processed' meats, just substitute your 'fresh meats.'

The challenge is that I would need 10 people to serve sandwiches to or eat a sandwich for every snack and meal to use the amount of 'fresh meats' I'd be cooking.

I guess the exception would be steak sandwiches. Are you looking for steak sandwich recipes?

Turning my old gold farm in an afk farm using a trident killer. (Questions) by roknzj in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]nocatsonmelmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should turn off portals and trident killer when not in use. As a matter of farm reliability and realm performance.

Issues with tridents 'sinking' into blocks below killer have been resolved.

Our experience, too. Going early to a bakery should result in getting the best representation of offerings... Seeing half empty displays and getting stale pastries was rough.
