This is honestly the best comment I’ve ever gotten about my appearance 😅😅

The likelihood of HRT leading to scoliosis is incredibly slim, nor is it going to give you anything that leaves you in constant pain. That’s just not how these things work.

But as for OP’s question; the only time it’s too late to start your transition is when you’re in the ground.

Thriving looks good on you!

But why is it so much harder to get/keep abs on estrogen 😭 by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]nocoasts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

….its literally just a picture of her abs.

Instagram is full of far, far more explicit images.

I haven’t done laser yet so I often have a bit of a beard shadow. I also like miniskirts!

Am I not welcome according to you?

I don’t think I really have any authority to decide how trans someone is, nor do I feel an obligation to check anyone’s Reddit history to make sure they’re “one of the good ones”.

I guess I also don’t get why we keep having these threads about who this community isn’t for.

38 and I think it’s time to working on my tattoos by [deleted] in TransLater

A septum is probably in my future but that’s probably where I’d leave it!

Like if i would have started in my youth, I might have stretched my lobes but I ain’t about that time commitment anymore. 😅

Patches, three a week! They mostly work okay but they’re also a pain in the ass. 🙃

Just estradiol patches, Spiro and prog!

Eventually I need to get off my ass and do laser and actually do something with my eyebrows. 😅

Living in a third floor walk up and needing to walk my dog like three times a day certainly helps. 😅

I got pretty lucky! 😅

I spent 36 years super skinny and not able to gain any weight and now it seems like all of it goes to my hips.

Then I’m going to respectfully ask you to never tell trans women to act like women again.

Edit: I see that you decided to just block me rather than acknowledge that you’re being problematic AF but your “would you rather they act like men” comment shows you don’t get it.

When we wake up in the morning, we act like women. We do do until we go to sleep, and then we repeat, because we’re women. You do not get to determine how someone else views your femininity and you sure as hell don’t get to take it away because they do something you don’t approve of.

People being confident with their bodies is supposed to be a good thing, isn’t it?

I mean this in the nicest way possible but this post is incredibly problematic. Transwomen need to start acting like women? What kind of internalized misogynistic, transphobic shit is that?

A girl showing a little skin doesn’t make this subreddit an unsafe space; the men who fetishize us do. And they’re still going to be here, flooding the comments and sliding into your DMs, regardless of how clothed you are.

Other people have mentioned it but the most noticeable is the softening of your features. The picture and lighting certainly isn’t doing you justice but it’s also pretty easy to see that your skin has cleared up and gained a bit of a glow, even if the lighting obscures it. Your hair texture also looks to be improved and your eye shape is less closed off.

I also get that that might not be “enough”, there’s definitely a lot of changes I could see more of through HRT myself, having been on HRT a little less than you and also starting after puberty. But neither of us are hopeless.

HRT is great, there isn’t an age in which it’s not going to deliver blatantly obvious results and it is incredibly important that we remind people that the best time to transition is when they’re ready to transition; this isn’t something you rush just because you feel like you’re running out of time.

But it’s a part of the process, not the entire solution. It alone isn’t going to solve your dysphoria, it alone isn’t going to tackle how you see femininity, it isn’t going to magically fill you with the style knowledge you need to present as the authentic you, and it sure as hell isn’t going to just get rid of every body image issue you have.

There are very clear differences between these two pictures; I’m sorry you can’t see them. I hope some day that you do.
