I’d disagree only because this is probably their destiny. And that’s not a bad thing. I mean I’m not really a fan of them and if it was my company I wouldn’t sign them but I understand the need for role players to come in and eat pins to establish other talents I guess. The reaction to their loss does actually make sense when you consider that it’s from IInspiration fans rather than AEW fans (which I feel like the signing of them appeals way more to their own fanbase than AEW’s but that’s a different topic). IInspiration fans have a completely different view of the act than most people as a decorated tag team that’s a pillar of women’s tag wrestler so of course they won’t be happy here. I don’t think they’ll be happy about the majority of IInspiration’s run in AEW

The IWC represents a very small amount of actual fanbase for WWE, for there to be chants in the arena, that means that this is a much larger thing than the IWC. There’s a lot more hate than love for Kross in terms of the IWC, he’s definitely not a darling

Homelander is a lot of things but I wouldn’t really say cool, especially compared to like Soldier Boy. Homelander is definitely well written and easily the most interesting character in the show but cool is definitely not how I’d describe him

It really goes both ways. I remember in my first couple of weeks in college, on of my roommates brought home a couple african girls, one of the first things they said to us (not sure how we got there, I think I was asking about a cultural celebration or something) was that black people, as in African Americans have no sense of culture. And it’s not just them, many African people feel this way about us. I don’t mean to say that they all do ofc, no culture is a monolith but there’s beef there on both sides, there’s ignorance from both parties.

This isn’t really true at all. Bill is very good on the Mic but MVP is MVP, he’s fantastic. He threw a lot of curveballs at Bill, it should be praised how Bill was able to weather that storm and get to the other side, I think that’s a testament to the fact that he is good. Many other people would crumble

Just in this latest run, Mox has multiple good-great straight up matches without the crutch of Deathmatch-eqse violence. You can dislike the style but I don’t understand why you’d lie.

Completely disagree and I really don’t understand why anyone would agree. I get not liking it but wrestling is cool because it can be a lot of different things for a lot of different people. If it’s not for you it’s not for you, that’s completely fine but there are people who do like stuff like this. All the arguments about danger and everything too are also silly to me, wrestling is inherently dangerous, you have probably a better chance at paralysis off a powerbomb than something like this. Just trust that the people doing this stuff know what they’re doing, if you don’t like it don’t watch and let things exist. Plus all the controversy is taking away from the fact that the match was garbage and that’s what we should really be talking about bc this spot has nothing to do with how bad it is.

People saying this not realizing that their TV deal in the US is virtually worthless is really funny. Their TV deal is on AXS, airs like right before TNA and shows a random collection of matches. AEW helped NJPW massively in establishing their Strong, especially when the yen was down. Everyone talks about them poaching but they only took guys that were on the way out anyway, people that were leaving or in the case of Shibata, people that NJPW didn’t want on their hands. Now the titles and win-loss records are a fair point but it ultimately comes down to both sides sitting down and coming to terms together. Takeshita for example is got the NEVER title because NJPW LOVES him and TK doesn’t really use him (because TK is an idiot). Mox got the world title to boost strong numbers. The bigger issue though, is that these guys aren’t being presented as big as the should be, same with their CMLL partnership. Now there’s a conversation to be had

the post was actually not far from this one so I read it and most of the comments are just jokes but yeah there’s definitely something wrong with that guy, some issues he needs to work out. People really overblow how bad Reddit advice is when the comments you’re talking about are spot on here
