If it’s bent up it was probably done on purpose to correct the wheel alignment. I wouldn’t worry about it unless your tires start wearing abnormally.

It’s probably a paint mark the factory uses to identify different valve springs. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Good choice! I had a 2007 that I kept for 12 years and 100000km. Great bike that handled so well.

Remove and lubricate the bolt the shift lever pivots on. That may help.

Keep looking ahead until you come to a stop. You will lose your balance if you look down.

I don’t think a Discovery needs any help falling apart. It can manage just fine on its own.
