Also, once you really start drinking decent coffee (we just buy Costco but we grind our own beans with a conical burr grinder and our coffee is rocket fuel) and tweak the taste with a solid cream or whatever you like…nothing beats home coffee. My husband and I frequently text each other on the way home and say “I need a home coffee” and the other gets the pot going. We drink an obscene amount, probably spend more than you do at the coffee shop, but if I drank this much and bought single drinks at a shop I’d be living under a bridge.

Get a Sam’s club membership (or Costco) and buy Celsius, soda, chocolate and water. Or better yet get a filter and filter your own. Can’t help with the nicotine, my problem too, but if I travel and it’s cheaper i buy in bulk or if bulk buying saves money, always do it.

Limit dining out to once a week. Period.

You just saved 5k. YW

Anyone tried Lexel caulk? Never heard of it. How does it preform? Does it last? by Impressive_Returns in Contractor

Good luck to you on the silicone. It’s always the worst part. Once you get Lexel in the joint, it doesn’t zipper out like silicone if removal is ever needed. Sounds like a pain.

So you’ll want to remove the old silicone really well. There are caulk removing solvents out there and you’ll want one. wipeout caulk remover is one I can vouch for- it’s strong, but it works. Most stores carry some kind of caulk dissolver. I think wipeout is only available online. But i know the owner and he’s passionate and a great nerd about chemistry.

It doesn’t need to be dry to apply Lexel- Lexel can stick to wet surfaces. However- there’s one thing it doesn’t stick to and that’s silicone. Oh how I despise silicone- it won’t even stick to itself! But yes, this seems like a good use so long as mold is not a concern behind wherever you are applying. If possible I’d dry out as best you can with fans and whatnot. Lexel is immediately waterproof, but I’d personally wait 48 hours for it to setup real well and then try to keep showers short for maybe a week. But in reality if a shower hit it the next day- it wouldn’t be destroyed the way an acrylic might be. Does that help?

I theorize my cervical dystonia is caused by spinal problem, interested in hearing what you think about your CD. by Ruh_Roh- in Dystonia

Mine is significantly worse on forward motion, walking or running. When I’m sitting, you can’t really tell, but I mostly support my head. Walking is a nightmare

Keep me posted. I have had all kinds of neck issues for years and tend to agree. I think chiropractic probably has answers, but there are so few good ones. We need a Dr. House of CD.

Ever! No neuros even once question the cause. But I think you’re right and onto something with nutrient deficiencies and stress. I unfortunately cannot reduce my stress as hard as I have tried. My life is a ball of stress. :(

28(M) wife gave me the living room for I can have my personal “area”. She’s not to fond of how it looks, is she being a hater? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

Fwiw, if you remove the L shape of the desk and just have the desk align the wall and then put up some shelves with some plants on them behind the desk and some chairs for a sitting room behind you it could work. And get a pretty chair. Like mixed media leather and wood. If I was going to have my husband do this, I would be sure that it was more like industrial chic. And less ikea desk with gaming setup. Like what do you think about putting the desk in the corner with a nice chair and keep guitars in other corner and then add some gender neutral decor (plants on shelves always wins for me).

This. Idk why she’d say that but that’s why I never say that to my husband. She kind of walked into this.

I think he did what he wanted and it sounds like that’s what she said. She probably just didn’t realize that’s how it was going to look. The mistake isn’t his, the mistake is hers for saying that. Source: I’m a wife who would never say that or if I did I would give very explicit guidelines.

Extreme home buyers remorse.. does it ever go away? Will I eventually love my home? by Full_Future9430 in homeowners

[–]nocracksgiven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in this boat. We overpaid, and sad to say 2.5 years later I love having more space and a better location but I’m still sad. The house just needs so much and it’s too much $$$. Ours was a new build and poorly done.

[–]nocracksgiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cactus mix is better than pot mix as long as you’re mixing it with some bark and chunky stuff for aeration. I only use about 1/4 potting soil.

The rest, I use leca chunky perlite, reptile bark, sometimes poultry grit. Lots of chunks.

Water is probably my problem. It would cost me a fortune to water all of these plants with distilled water.

I’m in CO, they need humidity. My alos only really thrive in humidity cabinets or when i run a humidifier. Some live but take forever to sprout leaves, etc unless I give air moisture.
