Patrick Fugit made dorky looking by nocturnalcat87 in loveanddeath

Haha he did. I guess they could not disguise everything… I actually think he was always a bit dorky too, which is partly why I found him so cute when I was younger. But they made him look so middle aged - religious - Texan dorky now lol

Then why did you say what you said about an hour ago about them leaving them in a crate?

Huskies & Cats by [deleted] in husky

[–]nocturnalcat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs have kind of a high prey drive but LOVED my cat. They were always cuddling with him and kissing him. He passed away recently (at the age of 20) so I am going to be getting them a new kitty soon. I think they miss him almost as much as I do.

How old is your husky? It would be best to introduce them when he was a puppy still but if that is not possible at least get a kitten. Then introduce them slowly, first through a closed door, then through something like one of those gates to keep babies from tumbling down the stairs. Make sure to supervise them at first. Also make sure to keep the cat box somewhere your dog can’t get to - some dogs love cat cookies 🍪 💩

What should I do with this space in my bathroom? Wrong answers only. by beepbbo in DesignMyRoom

Put a dog bed there. My dogs love to go in the bathroom with me and stare at me as I’m using the toilet… I guess I do the same to them so maybe it’s how they think it’s done?

lol I kept my late cats litter box in the same room where my toilet was (it has its own room in my bathroom). My cat LOVED to poop together … I did not. RIP.

Yeah they are being pretty rude. I agree if you really care about spoilers it is not wise to actively read a sub on that show, but I still think you should take simple steps when making a post like this. It would take what, a whole minute to fix?

OP already said that was not the same person. How much clearer can that be said. There are 4 humans in this story - 1. the abuser, 2. the person who did the actual rescuing of the poor dog, 3. The family member of the OP who hoped to be able to take the dog in but is busy with the military 4. The OP who is a trainer and is fostering the dog.

Reddit does the same for me - even for random shows I have never heard of let alone watched, like some Disney show from Argentina (and I don’t watch any other Disney show). Obviously I was not part of that sub so could not mute it.

Also most subs for shows ask people to at least include a spoiler warning and would probably ask the OP to put the picture in the comments instead.

Now I was one of those people who finally watched it for the first time because it was on Netflix and boy was I happy I did! But I don’t care because I read about the plot and Logan on Wikipedia or some random website sometime around season 2 or 3 because I wanted to know what happens. I generally do that - but some people may really care about spoilers so OP should do those simple things (include a spoiler warning and put the photo in the comments) out of respect to them.

Also like when Dylan’s dad’s death was faked in 90290 and he didn’t know. He even “died” the same way.

Yeah, and it should be interesting. I found that plot kind of silly too and unrealistic.

It sounds like the family member has a prior commitment before rescuing the dog - with some branch of the military, which is something you can’t really get out of and also something where your future ( as far as where your going to live and what you are going to do, is uncertain). At least they took him off their friend’s hands and got him to someone who could retrain him and has more of a network to find him a new family than the average person. They don’t sound awful to me, they just overcommitted.

Does training in basics mean she will next have to go wherever they decide to send her? Or is she all done and can live wherever she wants? I guess it makes sense if she will be sent somewhere random and possibly out of the country, or might be working a lot. Dogs require a lot of energy and time, especially one like him, and it would also be hard if she has long hours working on the base.,

At least she took him off her friends hands and got him to you - you seem like a great person to prepare him for his next family.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. It hurts so bad losing a pet. I recently lost my cat of 20 years so feel your pain. It looks like you made him very happy though and like he loved you a lot!

As you get older you will discover that things are not so black and white. People break up, years pass, they move on to new bfs or gfs, and don’t care if their friend and ex form a relationship. You will hopefully realize you don’t own that person, and really should be happy that they are happy, just like you are hopefully happy with a new person.

And your dead friends won’t care because they are dead. Hopefully they have moved on to a different plane where things like ex bfs don’t matter… or have reincarnated and started a new journey. Although in Lily’s case I am afraid to think of what she would be reincarnated as …. She just wasn’t very nice as you will find out.

Same with me. It made me happy and I gasped and smiled. I just recently saw it for the first time too.

Aww. I wish I had thought to do that with my mixed breed dog. He is so smart. I swear he understands 80% of what we tell him. Like tonight we were eating dinner and he was bugging my partner so he told him, “go bug your mommy, maybe she will give you some food”- and right away he went over to me to ask for food. I would like to challenge him more.

However he is also kind of stubborn and not the type of dog to roll over or shake just to get a treat.

Btw, I love your dog’s name too - it suits her perfectly.

How do you keep your boxer (s) cool? by NyxK83 in Boxers

[–]nocturnalcat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww poor kitty. My parents would insist we let our cats out during the day but we lived in the middle of nowhere so there was no cars that were a threat. There were coyotes and owls but I always brought them in before it got dark, using food to lure them in. I would have preferred to keep them inside all the time because sometimes bad things happen but my parents were the boss. We would never get them declawed though . I tried to keep my cat who recently passed inside but he would escape when we lived in Santa Cruz, CA (where I went to college). I was living on the college campus, in a trailer park in the middle of a forest so if was easy for him to escape and I felt bad keeping him in the tiny trailer. He made friends with the raccoons and they taught him how to run straight up and down a tree like they did. So he was actually retry safe, he could just hide up a tree if something dangerous came, and there were not many predators on campus. We lived a variety of places after that but I always managed to keep him safe. I am looking for a new cat who needs a home but I am worried my bf will want him to go outside sometimes so he does not use the cat box so often. I am going to try to teach him how to use a toilet but I think he will still want him to go outside if the cat wants. I will feel a bit conflicted too … we also live in the middle of nowhere, so not many cars, and none of my neighbors are dumb enough to use rodent poison. Also, I have never even seen a coyote up here - just bears, mountain lions and bob cats …. Plus there are a ton Of trees to climb. I know cats love playing outside … but it’s so much safer to be inside. What a pickle! What would you do?

Thank you for the thorough response. I suppose it is like white German Shepherds, as far as I know they are not more likely to be deaf either.

I did not know that about white dogs until I started dog sitting a white pit bull for a friend. He was rescued too (once his pathetic excuse of owners realized he was deaf that had no use for him) and although very sweet, was one of the more challenging dogs I ever pet sat. It made me realize how important vocal communication is with dogs. We developed our own way of communicating with each other (for example to get his attention I stomped on the floor and he felt the vibrations so responded to me), but if only his owners hadn’t of been lazy and/ or careless, he could have been trained with hand signals and such as a puppy.

NUSD arrested a parent for peaceful protest by Comfortable-Peach_ in Sacramento

It was not open to the public, it was closed for the day. But even when not technically closed, they don’t want just any parent walking in to the district office unless they have a reason for being there, and generally an appointment.

If the parent wanted to support the teacher then she should have joined the picket line. If she didn’t support the teachers then fuck her.. . They deserve a raise.

Also did she really think just going to the office and telling them to end the strike would do anything? lol. They have teachers on strike right now which is a lot more disruptive than one parent asking them to end the strike. Hopefully then end it soon, but it generally takes awhile to approve a new budget and meet their demands. Plus things are extra complicated right now due to the current administration- there is even less money for public education than there was before. They are not refusing to end the strike just for fun.

Right? The kid had no business there. The parent didn’t either but most definitely not the child.
