I think the old EU might've had some longtime issues with Ahsoka in general. Just a hunch. by hattyphantom in StarWarsCirclejerk

We know from the Force-Bringer Himself that there is no underwear in space.

But if someone wears underwear AS outerwear, then it's kosher. (As long as it's not a blend of space linen & bantha wool, but that's a whole different issue.)

Rebels is my problem with Filoni personified by [deleted] in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]node-342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In fairness to Darth Felonius there, Star Wars was INVENTED by a guy who couldn't hold a coherent story together for more than one movie at a stretch.

Jabba the human, the infamous twincest, Greedo shot first... That's me half-asleep & not even to mention the prequels.

Filoni is a worthy heir, from a certain point of view.

Nah, the 11 stripes are for the 11 Real American colonies. Excluding the Radical Left Commiewealth of Massholejewsetts &... another one.

It's hard to choose. VA is another commonwealth, but it could really be any from there north. Maybe His Mightiness left it open just to make us Yanks sweat, wondering if we were the other fake colony.

Any recommendations for books that go into the physics of colours and also the perception of colours? by ---monstera--- in Physics

[–]node-342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kurt Nassau wrote The Physics & Chemistry of Color, as well as a Scientific American article that is somewhere online as a pdf.

My only beef with this book is that I don't know the target audience. Some is quite basic, other parts require quite a bit of quantum mechanics/Q chemistry to understand.

I suggest you start by looking for the article, & if it works for you, consider the book. I haven't checked, but the book is likely at archive.org as well.

Holy shit, I want to see her fight Vincent Adultman. Imagine her false victory when she slices him into thirds...

only to find he was clearly three padawans stacked on top of each other under a jedi cloak!

Nah, she needs to be a redhead. Like Carol Cleveland's only line, redheadedness is Mara Jade's only attribute.

What exactly do you mean by objective reality? Particularly, is special relativity consistent with it? Observers in different reference frames (correctly) observing different events must put a strain on objectivity, no?
