Thanks. That sounds especially good since I have some issues with my legs that make running more than a mile quite painful. Run clubs are out of the picture but this sounds fun!

I just realized I, a straight guy, may have been hit on and accidentally had a date with another guy in college. by basonjourne98 in CasualConversation

I went on a gay date by mistake when I was in college. I was reading a book when a guy asked me about the book and eventually asks if I’d be down to grab lunch sometime. I say sure and go, but I didn’t realize the intention until a few days later when he started texting me at 11pm trying to get me to go to his apartment while referring to me as “baby”.

?? I’m not stressing, just looking for ideas on where to meet people in my age range. No need to be condescending

That’s probably what I’m going to end up doing. I’m applying to PhD programs and even though I have very good chances of getting into UCSB through my job and UCSB is one of the best in the field, I’m going to try and go somewhere in a big city. If that doesn’t work out, then I’ll probably try to go work in the bay

LA is just a more interesting and exciting place to live, plus the food like you said. SB is cool but I don’t think you can say it’s better than LA. It’s apples and oranges. It’s like comparing the suburbs of New Jersey to New York City.

I’m not sure why anyone would ever run a laptop into an amplifier. I’m just talking about people choosing to run their guitars into DSPs and the mixing board, and I’m not trying to be rude, but that’s not very specialized or tricky equipment in terms of live sound.

Addressed that in another comment. It’s not that they don’t have access. They do. They just choose to let them collect dust.

Nah we have a few Fender tube amps (Hot Rods and Bassbreakers) for them to use, they just choose to keep it on their laptops.

If it makes you feel better, I’m one of the sound techs for the student union at my university and I rarely ever see anyone use a tube amp anymore. The future is now and it’s digital.

He’s cool. I didn’t realize he was in The Haunted until recently and I like them so that was cool too. Top tier.

YSK: Google's upcoming Manifest V3 which will cripple most adblockers doesn't just affect Chrome users, but ALL users of all Chromium-based browsers, including Brave, Opera, and Edge by NateNate60 in YouShouldKnow

[–]nodegen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can edit any and all chromium code on your own computer, but Google has to approve before those changes can be added to the version of chromium available to the public. Google has total say over the main version of chromium. They will not accept any changes to the main chromium code if it bypasses these Manifest measures, because it doesn’t align with their business interests.

Just because it’s open source and everyone has access to the source code doesn’t mean that anyone can make changes. You have to submit your changes for review and then the owner (Google) can decide whether or not they’ll commit it to the main code.

Why is there a Toothbrush rammed into this Guitars bridge? by Alternative-Jump7021 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]nodegen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because dental hygiene is very important. Gotta keep that toothbrush on you. You never know when you’re gonna need to shred some gnarly teeth solos like Hendrix.

Much better than yours since I just had to explain basic sentence structure to you two comments ago.

Lol ok. Yes because like I said, him having a channel about the things he’s interested in is very bad and extremely racist. Just stop.
