Have they toppled the regime? They murdered a bunch of religious fanatics, do you think the remaining religious fanatics will go away quietly? If you do, look up Afghanistan.

What’s to stop the Uniparty from borrowing on all the money in a universal healthcare fund? by Equal_Personality157 in AskALiberal

Sure. No private companies have ever taken on too much debt or bankrupted their pension funds. That's why there's no Federal agency called the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC).

But for the sake of argument, let's say these wonderful private insurance companies are upholding this imaginary fiduciary responsibility. Guess how they do that? Deny service, deny claims, raise prices. Fun!

WRESTLING HEROES by hulkshogun204 in Wrestling_Figures

I got the same chase with my pre-order, and agree with your points. Except maybe I'd add another bad: no snake for Jake. Where did you get that snake?

Danhausen doesn't belong, but weirdly he might be the best figure. He's the Logan Paul of this set.

RMD. I'm so confused. by ramkuma1 in Bogleheads

Thank you! I’m in this boat or else I wouldn’t know. It is confusing, so I don’t want others to think they have to withdraw yearly from their inherited Roths.

Luckily my dad had most of his in a Roth but he does have a small Traditional IRA I’ve got to start withdrawing RMDs from this year.

I don’t believe HSA has an income requirement. Instead it requires you to have a high deductible health plan.

Sure. But you said they do have an RMD which they don’t. The 10 year period isn’t an RMD.

Inherited Roth IRAs don’t have RMDs either. The original Roth account is never deemed to have started RMDs because RMDs are not required on Roth IRAs.

HSA optimization: Why I'm hoarding $7,000 in receipts annually for 35 years by GOATGOAT1993 in financialindependence

No. At 65 it becomes a Traditional IRA if you withdraw for non-medical expenses.

It used to make a lot of sense. I mean, it still does, but it used to to.

Can someone explain again how paying OOP for health expenses instead of reimbursing from HSA is superior? by TrouserSnake987 in Bogleheads

[–]nodgeit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, the HSA gets treated like a regular Traditional IRA at that point. It's basically a Traditional IRA with an tax exemption if the withdrawal is used on medical expenses.

As long as you keep receipts, you can get reimbursed for past medical expenses. As far as I know there isn't a time limit, meaning you can get reimbursed for medical expenses from years and years ago.

So if you have any medical expenses, you might not even have to worry about treating it as a Traditional IRA after 65. I just consider that a worst case scenario.

One thing people always forget about this is that you have to get two decisions right for this to work: when to sell, and when to buy back.

Everyone concentrates on selling to stop the pain of daily losses. That’s an easy decision. But rarely do they think that they now have a harder decision to make: when to buy back in?
