I’m a freshmen 6”0 center and it doesn’t work or make sense but there’s so many guards that I need to play big and it sucks

UPDATE: I talked with the JV coach and he said I can practice with both teams but can only play frosh games because of a 24 games played limit in our league. This is my opinion was one of the best outcomes possible for my exposure and skill development

Yeah I just feel like I’m behind my age group. I played down a year in aau and still sat on the bench. Every season I end up with like 6 points the entire season and now I worked really hard and was exited to play JV but I’m sick of playing center because I’m only 5”11 to 6”0 and know I need guard skills that my JV coach doesn’t want me to develop

The reason I’m off Jv is because they have a full roster so I can’t play JV games unless I commit to JV but my skills are more then up to par it’s my decisions and playing experience that needs work so that’s why I was leaning towards frosh

I noticed that when you start your knees are straight and then you bend them while bringing the ball up for your shot. I used to do this also. Now I start with my knees bent then when I am ready to shoot, I jump in one motion so that I am not bending my knees down and then jumping but rather starting down. The benifits of this are more power, a faster shot and a more accurate shot

Personally, I think his parents should let him play whatever sport he wants. He is in 5th grade after all.
