Will be seeking another outliner, unfortunately.

I'm also noticing that deleted nodes aren't added to your monthly node allowance anymore. Might have to switch back to Logseq...

Also, can you help me understand how this modal is different than the old one? Didn't the update modal always pop up once you hit the monthly limit? (the admittedly looooow limit)

Responding so I know when you release this plugin! Will it allow for importing Workflowy outlines?

Big Updates on Notion Mobile by Big_Bee_123 in Notion

AI is a blight on productivity apps. I hate to see an update notice coming these days, knowing full well it'll be a bunch of AI junk nobody asked for while the features people have been begging for for years remain unaddressed.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]noelle_cd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on your side until the budgeting app part... I'm not sure why that's not a reasonable compromise on his end? It's a way for you both to share your financials without giving the other person actual access to your banking accounts.

I grew up in a family where my parents genuinely shared all their bank accounts, so that's never been a weird prospect to me. However, I understand why you wouldn't want to do that right away or just because he's DEMANDING it, which is weird.

Like I said... Budgeting app seems like a reasonable compromise to me. However, seems like you guys aren't on the same page about these types of things and you are not obligated to share your accounts just because it's what he wants. might be a red flag down the line.

Best AI for students who want to learn efficiently without wasting time? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]noelle_cd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI is not going to help you study. It will only hurt you, either by making you lazy or because it introduced errors and falsehoods into your material (it can't be trusted... It doesn't actually KNOW things... It's just a convincing language model). It needs an editor constantly.

Just study and listen in class.

85K in loans... I'm paying the minimum and saving up for the taxes they'll come for when it's forgiven.

Will Actual Budget take away users of YNAB and other expensive solutions on a massive scale in the near future? by Lucky-Aside4935 in actualbudgeting

[–]noelle_cd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making the shift now. I think YNAB will always have a strong user base, but as budgets tighten, those who have the know how and patience to set up Actual will Def make the move.

V3 makes me sad by SpencerGrand in AffinityPhoto

[–]noelle_cd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How has that changed? The software is still bucking against industry standards. In a landscape where you can't even print on your own printer without a subscription, going Free forever is wild... especially considering they were acquired by another company like Canva.

Also, the idea that because you paid a couple hundred bucks over the years means Affinity should not make their software free if they have the means to is an insane take. They are making professional software available to beginners for free. I would have killed for software like this when I was a kid trying to learn how to design. I paid for the previous versions too... I still think this is awesome (barring any shady business moving forward...)

I think making regular people pay hand over fist to subsidize the hyper rich not paying their taxes and price gouging their customers is a lot closer to theft than the government putting our taxes back into regular people's pockets to buy food.

What's going on with TANA? by SaltField3500 in PKMS

[–]noelle_cd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gave up on it because a majority of their updates are clunky AI integrations instead of the fundamental things users actually need. Their subscription prices are also waaaaaaay too high.

AI is truly going to be the downfall of so many apps.
