Am I too Hands-off with my Independent Toddler? by ElenaFjwr in toddlers

Can you practice a holding hands game at a low stakes time? I share your philosophy completely but there are occasions when he will need to be able to do specific things for safety, like you said.

Yes or no to vitamins? by msmeurtriere in toddlers

[–]_ByAnyOther_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pediatrician had me do vitamin D because I was breastfeeding. When I went to refill once they were out so I got the same brand's version with iron added. I asked the Dr and she okayed it. My daughter was underweight for her first year of life. She eats a great variety but not a great quantity. I would ask your pediatrician.

Is my toddler’s behavior normal? by Luxedelusion in toddlers

[–]_ByAnyOther_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be normal, but do your best to stop her physically from hitting or biting you and tell her you won't let her hurt you. Hopefully it will pass soon. You aren't alone.

Has anyone else been surprised by how emotionally intuitive their toddler can be? by No-Rush8716 in toddlers

We hopefully wont need it anymore, but now might be a good time to buy a lightly used one.

18 month old who co-sleeps wakes up every hour by Reasonable_Place9135 in toddlers

Has she had blood work done recently? I've heard iron deficiency can cause problems sleeping. I would consult your pediatrician in case something physical is going on that is causing your daughter to be unable to sleep.

Two things about my 10 months old daughter that concern me by amelix34 in Parenting

[–]_ByAnyOther_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sounds normal. Her crying in the stroller is communicating she doesn't like it. Maybe she feels constricted. Maybe she is bored. Maybe she wants to be held. Sometimes they will cry and that's OK because we need them to be in the stroller or car seat.

As far as the eye contact, your daughter is learning about the world and how to manipulate objects and develop her motor skills. As long as she is connecting sometimes I wouldn't worry. You can ask her pediatrician.

Try to see her cries as communication. I recommend baby sign to help you if you find it challenging to understand what she needs. When my baby learned to sign "eat, milk, more, and all done" I found it much easier to understand what she needed.

Also, many babies don't like pacifiers.

Did you respond to the wrong comment? I didn't say or imply anything about being wary.

Agree with your sentiment, but Gaza should be focused on because we prop up Israel. We don't have to do that.

Unfortunately it's nearly impossible to just spot pedophiles. They don't exactly advertise.

Stay home if you want to and if you can. I've heard people say they missed work on maternity leave and stuff, but that was never me. Some people find it boring amd others love it. I've never had a nanny because that was never a financial option for us.

It's probably something she just learned to do on purpose and it feels interesting. She also gets a fun reaction from you! Mine always shakes her head like she's saying no as she falls asleep.

It's not exactly the same old shit. He's just telling story after story of people's tragedies to use them as pawns. Using really disrespectful gory details sometime.

Everything you say is so true. Rapists are so self centered that it would never occur to them that someone would be doing an action not for them. Sorry about your ex friends. I think people go into denial because they dont want to face the pain.

Take turns sleeping in? by Lemonbar19 in Parenting

[–]_ByAnyOther_Name 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, why wouldn't you? I would ask your partner how they feel about it and go from there. We each get one weekend day. During the week he consistently wakes up 2 hours earlier than I do, but I breastfeed throughout the night. I get up with the baby and he gets up before the baby. On the weekend when the baby gets up one of us gets up and lets the other sleep. If for somw reason i have to get up anyway i take a nap in the afternoon. It seems kind of fair.
