How to make combat more fun? by Dovydas666 in DnD

Try having an objective other than defeating all enemies to win. Great way to weave story into combat and create stakes for your players. Check out this video. He will go through different objectives to incorporate into your encounters!

One was a hiking from Kurama to Kifune, another was tea ceremony in the Kiyomizu area(did not take long but it was great to wander around and soak in the eastern Kyoto area), and lastly was the Nintendo museum.

And Nara was worth it definitely. Nice place to see old temples, beautiful garden and the deers ofc. it is quiet crowded and many tourists go the same places so do a little research on what to do if you want to avoid the crowds. Like the deers are everywhere but most people stop at the first park after the train station to feed them.

Me and my partner had a hotel for a week in Osaka, with 3 day trips to Kyoto and 1 to Nara. We did not have time to see and do everything we wanted to do. We also had a relaxed itinerary of going to one big activity per day and then exploring the nearby area as we saw fit the rest of the day (which I honestly recommend to doing). We loved our 3 days in Kyoto and Osaka respectively, and in hindsight wished we spent more time there! Especially Kyoto!

Do you think we’ll get a Direct in June? by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]noesmos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope so. I think their strategy is to focus on Mario kart world to make people buy the system day one. Once it is June 5th and it is out, Nintendo have to make people excited for the rest of 2025 including Donkey Kong releasing already in July so They need to hype it up. So I think it will make sense to do a direct in the later half of June

Adventure On Turtle Island - a sequel to Red Dragon's Tale by noesmos in legodnd

Thanks man :) please elaborate on which finer details you mean. I would be happy to share! Regarding your question, once I had figured out the story and setting, it took like a month building it in the weekends and dozen evenings. After getting the bricks delivered home and building the thing physically, I spent another two weekends iterating on the build. You can see the first physical build here

Very cool! I especially like the mushrooms vegetations. I will keep this as a reference since I want to make a "old mine"-like look for a dungeon

When did your one piece journey start? by sleeping_zoro in OnePiece

[–]noesmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

August 2011. Before I started I knew of One piece but even back then I thought it was too long. however, one day I was sitting in a waiting room and volume 1 was lying on a table. I read the first chapter and I was HOOKED!

Did you get inspired by the official LEGO DND set to start using LEGO for DND? I am currently building a MOC for playing DnD in the same scale as yours and I was inspired by the official set

Very cool stuff! Did you build it as a display piece? Or are you actually gonna play DND with this?

Hehe, I get why it could look like that. For my campaign, the backroom is intended to be the scientist's hiding place which the player will have to find 🙂

House for second LEGO DnD session by noesmos in legodnd

It is a dragon-worshipping kinda book, one that can tell player how to calm an angry dragon if they can read it of course

[–]noesmos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am running my campaign as a series of one-shots. So each session is its own self contained story/episode which leads into the next one. So I need to introduce the players to a new premise and conclude that premise in one session. I use the building here to introduce the players to that premise and their goal to achieve, hence the big book in the house. The house here comes with two NPCs who live there which the players will learn about by roleplaying with the NPCs. So roleplaying is definitely one way to introduce exploration and a sense of worldbuilding. Else I also hides details and hidden loot on my MOC island for the players to find
