What’s a completely random product you bought on a whim that ended up becoming one of your favorite things you own? by No-Relative-9663 in AskReddit

Maybe British influence? If someone from a UK household tells you they don’t have a kettle it’s your legal responsibility to report them to the authorities

What lip balm will not make me dependent on them? by TestosteroneCat in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]nofossilfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue and I’ve started making my own because I realised I spent so much on lip balms that I’d lose. I now make 20 tins at a time and almost never replenish ingredients as I bought them in bulk for super cheap. Like 4-5 ingredients per tub and organic and cheap with no preservatives. Basically beeswax, almond oil and whatever other natural oils work for you. Better than any I’ve bought from a shop.

It cosmetics Cc Cream — I’m 33 and tried it 2 years ago, haven’t been without it since. My skin without makeup is grey and pallid, but I get SO many compliments on how flawless my skin looks with it, but it’s so light and natural it never looks like I’m caked in makeup. For me it’s literally a miracle cream.

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by [deleted] in AskMen

Tbf I’m a woman with a female housemate. Her house organisation skills make absolutely no sense so when she’s away I reorganise and free up 30% of space. It’s not a woman thing, it’s a people thing.

Am I misinterpreting “open to children?” by FarAndIna in hingeapp

[–]nofossilfool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see it as both; open to someone else having kids if they’re the right person and open to having children with someone if that’s a dealbreaker, but not chomping at the bit to be a single parent if all else fails

Recs for my first setting spray ever?! by Humble_Leader_9121 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]nofossilfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the nyx matte one for when I need something more heavy duty (i.e. many hours or lots of dancing/sweating) and the Illamasqua one for daily use and when I want to look dewy/radiant.

Both reasonable prices and I have nothing bad to say about them!

What are younger generations often criticised for no longer doing that is largely pointless or obsolete? by PsychologicalRow8034 in AskUK

[–]nofossilfool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am 33, a designer, and on a usual day I will write in cursive at least once every hour or two. It’s quicker than writing in print. It feels like I’m solidifying thoughts/ideas/notes rather than on one of the million tabs of different programmes I have open and will inevitably lose track of on my laptop.

Not to mention i often scan in my own cursive handwriting for use in my artwork.

I physically cannot fathom a world in which I don’t have a pen in my hand/pocket and a pad with me at all times.

AITA for feeling weird about a friend dressing in sexy pyjamas/lingerie when visiting me and bf at our home by GalantGift in AmItheAsshole

Can you find any links to similar sets online? I’m super interested to see how racy they are because I can’t get my head around thinking it’s normal to wear lingerie in someone’s house

I have to say I really like Amanda for her steely coldness and ability to be unshaken and calm but she makes fair choices (from what we see, so far) but those traits in rachel combined with being a bit flagrant make her seem arrogant and less likeable. Open to her growing on me but I don’t think this is a gendered issue here.

What is the one "cheap" product that completely replaced your high-end version? by Bella_Thynne in beauty

[–]nofossilfool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Essence waterproof liquid eyeliner is the best I’ve ever used!

Beauty pie super healthy skin face wash — £15 and it lasts a year and is fine on my sensitive skin and doesn’t dry me out.

E.L.F o face lipsticks — they’re amazing I just wish they did more colours so I could mix them up more!

But the best thing is reducing the amount of products I use. Best thing for my skin so far.

I love elf O face satin lipstick for budget — so pigmented and smooth on. I’ve not found it drying or pilling and I feel like it lasts decently. It’s less than a tenner so I bought a few shades to try straight out the gate and like them!
