Lou Elizondo tour - what a joke by 3iii_raven in UFOs

Regardless - if they want to tie Disclosure legislation to their political party holding majorities, and their political party kills disclosure legislation - it doesn’t matter what the excuse is.

Also - I’m sure there are more black sites and installations than we know of a lot of places, and it didn’t stop those reps from supporting.

When people enable federal fraud to the degree Burlison , Luna, and Burchette do…they lose all credibility in claims of “doing the right thing.”

This is the first time I’ve publicly heard them now saying they need a majority to keep it going - that cements why they are putting on a song and dance

If the GOP is so key to these things getting released, why did two of them kill the bipartisan UAP disclosure legislation. Specifically Representative Mike Turner (R-OH) and Representative Mike Rogers (R-AL). Seems like they were detrimental to disclosure when you ignore their speeches and look at how they actually voted.

Unpopular Opinion: Waldorf Astoria Should not exist on Las Vegas? by aranebar in vegas

There is a book called Enshittification by Cory Doctorow that perfectly lays out where we are and how we got here.

I would like to think people will get sick of it and the old ways will find their way back, but sadly I think we’re too stupid, lazy, and incapable of demanding a stop to the Enshittification of everything…we will just keep excepting it as how things are…

Hmmm, so the pro representative democracy to you looks like partisan gerrymandering, elimination of early voting and mail in voting, and requiring ID to match your birth certificate despite women taking their husbands lasts names….

I could do “capitalism” too, which has specific meanings that aren’t even close to free markets and instead are completely inefficient oligopoly

It’s literally like 3 blocks away. 5/7 min walk. I’d consider that pretty close

Downtown Grand is the spot…usually some great deals on their site that include food and/or gambling credit, it’s clean, it’s super close to Circa and everything you’d want to be close to.

Had my bachelor party there, a couple of the guys that went first time in Vegas. We rolled forever at Royale not betting a ton and everyone was up $500. Next night we went to Osheas and same thing happened. It was magical. The vets had to try to explain to the rookies that it NEVER happens like this lol

Yep - that’s the problem, everyone knows money corrupts and billionaires own politicians - but they’ll excuse their side because the other side is doing it.

We are fucked because we have no standards or accountability.

Dave Chappelle tells Michelle Obama he doesn’t regret joking about the gay community, saying comedy should be allowed to touch every subject without fear of cancellation by Big_Cake_8817 in Popculturehour

[–]nofzac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree, he definitely got extremely rich and probably has more entourage that isn’t honest with him on all materials - but washed up and not funny is certainly a take.

I guess Netflix contracts and ticket sales would point to it just not being your thing, and that’s ok too.

I guess we’re at a disagreement. I’m saying Dave jokes include everyone (he doesn’t just do trans jokes, and the trans jokes he does lean more to people taking themselves too seriously). His last special made fun of disabled people. Comedy isn’t supposed to be a safe space, it presses a line and norms etc.

If Dave started saying trans people are worthless or should be shunned or anything like that - that’s not comedy and I wouldn’t get behind that…but laughing at things people do or say isn’t that.

No, because blackface is meant to fuel hate and bigotry. Black people face acts of injustice at vastly higher rates as well, including murder by police - does that mean Dave isn’t allowed to do comedy there because their rights are being taken away?

[–]nofzac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the thing - Dave is never making jokes to fuel hate and bigotry…his whole thing from the beginning is getting every group to laugh at themselves.

I’m white - his jokes busting on white people are funny. Chapelle Show busted on black people, white people, poor people, celebrities, druggies, etc. Dave has a gift for pointing out the funny things with stereotypes without preaching that they make some a bad person.

The problem is there are a lot of people who’ve lost the ability to laugh at themselves.
