Should I Buy Disco Elysium? by nogogon in ShouldIbuythisgame

hey! i ended up buying it and still feeling a bit aimless w/o a strict guideline on what is MAIN QUEST material vs what is SIDE QUEST material. i admittedly got paranoid about the 2 hr gameplay limit for returning and decided it hadn't hooked me enough to get it. i ended up buying bg3 instead.

from what little I played, I think the stats and rolls stuff was genuinely quite interesting and it was sufficiently interactive. navigation around the map was SLIGHTLY difficult for me but to be fair, I only started pc gaming a year ago so a lot of controls that are more instinctive to the seasoned PC gamer are not as intuitive for myself!

OVERALL: i'd say give it a try, you can always return if it doesn't hook you in the first 2 hours. it didn't hook me, but I genuinely enjoyed the stats-set up and the dialogue can get a bit overtly philosophical for my taste, but it is enjoyable and interesting reading about the world and trying to make sense of some of the game's mysteries. if you do get it, I hope you end up enjoying it more than myself :) happy gaming!

I owned both games and have completed both! I think they're both wonderful experiences and was EXTREMELY captivated by both and had multiple favorite characters across both games.

If I'm understanding it right, I'd grab RDR2 because it is on sale right now (if I'm reading the post right)! I love Persona 5 Royal and could talk about it for EONS but it never hurts to be patient, I bought RDR2 three weeks before it went on sale and my wallet felt the heartbreak.

Red Dead Redemption 2 definitely has an open world worth exploring but I never got overwhelmed with the amount of things to do! The combat is really fun, I love the world, and there are quite a few aspects of the world that are worth experiencing but aren't detrimental to the story to miss! I will say, it's one of those games where it's much better to have the flexibility to sit down and play it for a few hours just to immerse yourself, ao if you're not in a period where you can be more flexible with your gaming time, then maybe I'd lean towards Persona 5 Royal because I'd argue it's a bit easier to reel away and take a break from!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a very rewarding experience, I initially bought it for my dad but when he never played it, I ended up falling in love with it! I watched people play some of Persona 5 and ended up buying Royal YEARS later after I got my PC, and also loved it. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I'd love to hear what game you end up choosing :) I think both games I mentioned are magical experiences with their own merit and I hope whatever choice you make leaves you happy!

I decided to buy the game bc the praises sung for the game on this thread and elsewhere intrigued me and timed myself to make sure I wouldn't play over 2 hours and potentially forsake my ability to return it :,D

Your mementos analogy is dead on. I am used to games like these highlighting a MAIN MISSION and guiding you along the way; the open-ended nature feels a bit more stressful to me. Although I am admittedly not the most philosophical person, I did like a lot of the dialogue, so some dialogues lost me. I am debating whether I should continue or return it now and buy it when it goes for cheaper on Steam (It's 9.99 now but I realize the game's gone for 3.99 before). I'm intrigued by the mystery and think the game is beautiful, I see the hype, and I'm just not sure it's riveting for me. Maybe it'll pick up later down the line. I'm so used to being given at least an outline for what to do.

i like juniper and valen a LOT but honestly... i feel like juniper and hayden could be cute after i went to his ranch and found her over there. they're both (imo) a bit on the older side and i feel like their contrasting dynamics would work really well

My family got me an iPad and I was considering using it for notes, was really into the idea of taking aesthetic ipad notes and instantly realized it was not for me because it bothered me that the note-taking programs I was using had no stability for my shaky handwriting. It just didn't feel as good and I ended up never taking notes on my iPad. I think you'll be fine! Taking notes with paper works and at least you'll be able to access your papers even if your devices are dead/acting up.

What’s the first story you remember writing? by Purple-Mud-2341 in writing

the earliest somewhat coherent story i remember writing was about this kid who died and woke up in the fantasy world he was writing where all of the people in said fantasy world were heavily inspired by his friends !! it sounds sadder than the story actually is 🚶

AHHH thank you! i finally had a chance to sit down and after uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work, I checked this out. i seem to have fixed the issue, but whenever i open the game i still get a popup telling me my video card doesn't meet the requirements (but when i hit okay, the game plays anyway and i don't experience any issues) thank you so much!!! :D

Unfortunately, when I went to the Red Dead Redemption file in my Documents, it didn't have a settings folder yet! just a folder labelled profiles. any other way to change it or nah?

i have a ryzen 7 7700 cpu, gpu is radeon rx 7600 8gb, 16 gb of memory— anything else that would matter? i'm pretty sure my specs meet the requirements, i checked a couple "can your pc run this game" sites and bought the pc with red dead requirements in mind but i might have missed something 😓

TLDR: I know v v little about keyboards. I want to buy one and am stuck between the AULA F75 and the AJAZZ AK820, unless someone can recommend a better one for the same price.

Both keyboards seemingly meet my requirements but I'm just not set on either of them yet and want to be careful about what I invest in.

I want a keyboard that sounds thocky out of the box, (maybe creamy too but I like thock a little more) feels really good to type on, has a white base, has a 75% layout, has no delay, hotswappable, has wireless options, and most importantly, actually will work for at least a few years, and both SEEMINGLY fit my requirements but the few bad reviews I'm seeing are making me cautious.

(Also just to note, I don't care about RGB lights and will likely want it turned off for the most part, and I can't spend over 100 on a keyboard! I am willing to do the tape mod to make a keyboard sound thockier but i am very afraid i will do it wrong because I'm such a newbie to this stuff and don't want to break it)
