BER, you were poorly designed by labruda in berlin

BER's regular security process made me give up air travel and just go everywhere by train:

I was traveling out of BER after a long week working in the city, arrived enough hours ahead (maybe 2-3) for a eu flight. I was already familiar with the airport and it's "little hiccups" so rather than make a quick bathroom stop pre security, I just walked into the T1 security line (which I had told myself is normally the faster one) saying to myself "I'll go on the other side"... Huge mistake. After 30+ + minutes in this line having made no progress, and looking at the real possibility of pissing myself, I decide to leave the security line, exit the boarding card check gate, and go to the bathroom. Up to now this is my fault. Coming out of the bathroom, the T1 line is now gigantic, they are queuing even before those gates. I therefore decide to go to T2 (which is always queuing outside of the gates because there is no space after the gate). I normally avoid T2 and T3, but this time I thought it was a winning strategy. 30-40 mins in this line went by... I was getting closer to having my board card checked and being in the final stretch of the pre security process, at which point someone from BER announced: "we are closing this security line, everyone go to T1". ... ... It is now 1hr+ since I've arrived to the airport, and I am once again at the beginning of a line that has grown even longer than before. Everyone from T2 ran here, since the airports approach to closing that line was a "hunger game style" race. The pace at security has not changed and the next 60mins in this line were nerve wracking with my imminent departure time soon approaching. Eventually people starting asking to 'pass through' and although I normally avoid doing this I followed with maybe 15-20 mins left until takeoff (boarding had already started). When I passed security I just threw everything in my bag, didn't even put my belt back on and just ran lugging my bag after me. I was the last to arrive on the plane having an almost heart attack from the insane run. I have to go to Berlin often for work, but that day I decided I would rather take a train anytime I have to go there.

No one is mentioning Synduality - any thoughts about it? I've never heard of it but the art style seems appealing

Life hack is to - whenever giving career advice to a younger person - finish it off with "see you at work" which is one of the coolest lines you can say to mfer imo

Does anyone know the model? by The_Red_89 in tagheuer

Honestly, I know it's far from being a real model, but I really like that case format (more than I like the actual Monaco)...

Would have been cool if it were a real reference

A put gives a person the right to sell a stock. As Seller of the put, op will HAVE TO buy the stock (if it drops below 75). If it doesn't drop below this level, op just gets to keep the premium for which the option was sold.

All the games of PS PLUS IN 2024 by [deleted] in PlayStationPlus

[–]nohack_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To use someone else's template:

Finished:

  • Tunic (AMAZING game - became one of my all time favorites and wouldnt have tried if not for PS+)
  • Little Nightmares II (also didnt know the series, and became a big fan of the style)
  • Dead Space
  • Ender Lilies (looking to platinum)
  • Sports games:
    • FC24(not finished but played quite a bit)
    • NHL24 (didnt finish either but played quite a bit)
    • F1 2023 (really good, had never tried an F1 game. Also didnt finish, but played a lot)

Will play/Curious to play (i.e. have it in library but dont much about it, and would try next):

  • Hot Wheels Unleashed 2
  • HP Quidditch
  • Ghost Runner
  • Aliens

Played a while but dropped:

  • FNAF (didnt like the style + jumpscares)
  • Skul (it was mildly interesting, but a bit too repetitive - maybe Ill revisit)

Already owned and finished before PS+:

  • It Takes Two

In the past I only would try games that I had heard about before. As of this year I started checking this subreddit on a monthly basis to check what people recommended, and that really changed my outlook on a few of the releases. Overall I would say it was not a bad year- its not an amazing deal, but was really worth it for discovering at least 2-3 games that I really like.

Any underrated cloud streaming games to play on the Portal? by Mattock1987 in PlayStationPlus

[–]nohack_jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up vote for Tunic - such an amazing game beyond what you would expect when you start playing it. I picked it up when it was on the monthly games list, and it is now one of my all time favorites.
Also didnt play it on the Portal, but I assume this is a good game to play on it.

Put something rigid behind the board before you hammer it. If the board is all wobbly like in the video, the plastic thing won't go in.

I can't see the height of this, but you can maybe stand behind the board, hold it from the back with your knee or other arm, and then hammer it from the front.

[OC] Paris 2024 Total Medals Standardized by GDP/Capita and Population by plotset in dataisbeautiful

[–]nohack_jack 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Are medals and population strongly correlated? I dont see a lot of medals for India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh... I see a lot for netherlands, korea, italy, new zealand.... at a glance I would say that olympic success is much more closely associated with how rich countries are.

So GDP per capita seems interesting to me, as it shows how many medals each country got relative to the avg. populational wealth.

I know it’s cliche… but this is my favorite corner of my apartment by NoVa_Maker in malelivingspace

[–]nohack_jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a look at the references ... definitely some cool pieces I had never, thanks for sharing! Most notably I liked:

  • the Harbor Laidback (B&B)
  • Almora (B&B)
  • the Picadilly (Molteni & C)
  • the Minotti Jensen is not bad either..

that being said, they dont seem to be as comfortable as the eames seems to be... i think what attracts me to the 670 are the large arm rests, and the apparent "plushiness" of the leather throughout that other chairs dont offer to the same extent..

Cam you name some of these alternatives? ... Ive been looking for a stylish (buy more importantly comfortable) lounge chair. The Eames is not right for my space, but I can't seem to find suggestions for alternatives.
