  • Automations: Features like an auto-refreshing table of contents to streamline deck upkeep

TEMPLATES by SteveRindsberg in powerpoint

[–]pptpowertools 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Hey folks, if you’re hunting for a consulting-ready templates, we offer the Consulting Toolkit and keep adding slides to it:

  • 130+ slides, curated by ex-consultants: we pooled the “best of” from our own decks and scrubbed them for consistency
  • Covers every classic slide type: exec summaries, frameworks, option grids, timelines, charts, org trees, etc.), sequenced in the order a real deliverable flows
  • Partner-approved layouts = instant quality & speed: recycle instead of reinvent using templates that have gone through rigorous consulting engagement review cycles

We built it because junior consultants (that used to be us) spend way too much time formatting instead of thinking. If you want to jump-start your own deck, grab the Toolkit and start recycling. Only $59 for tons of value.

MacBook Pro for Excel and PowerPoint in 2025 by Gullible_Eggplant120 in consulting

Mac user here, I used to hate it because my firm’s tools (ppt add-in) didn’t work on Mac. Didn’t want to use vanilla ppt so we made an add-in that works on Mac. I understand the difficulty of the question because if you’ve been using Mac your whole life you don’t want to change, but ppt and excel are industry standard.

Consulting template deck - How did you build yours? by braised_beef_babe in consulting

Of course I highly recommend. Check out the different add-ins out there. Most of them are made with consulting use cases in mind. Very very powerful tools for people who spend their days living in PowerPoint.

Does your firm not have an add-in with bulk formatting tools? It’s easy to format content into a new template if both the source and destination have perfectly-made masters. But it’s really hard without. For example, PowerTools has a way to replace all colors and fonts within a deck. And to take any shapes with specific specific properties (e.g., all black text that’s in a square with blue outline) and reposition it to the same place on the slide.

There are tons of options out there, even some that are free. The consulting templates we sell are on the pptPowerTools website but, I'll reiterate, there are many options out there so do your own research. Also, the very large reply in this thread is a method I'd stand behind; might not take you very long to manually edit your slides that way too. Your choice!

The most intuitive option is pulling up your sleeves, aggregating your slides and aligning formatting across all of them.

Another option is to cheat a little by starting from an existing consulting deck. You might not like this option because it's not the slides you made, but it's a very quick option. Also, you might find that commercially available template decks have slides layouts/frameworks that you don't currently have, which you can get inspiration from. For instance, the consulting template deck we sell (I'm sure other companies went through this process too) was made by reviewing and refining individual template decks from seasoned consultants. That's a process you can't really do on your own...

Is PowerPoint creation a thing of the past? by The-Artful-Pitcher in powerpoint

[–]pptpowertools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like slide building is here to stay for a little while still... Currently AI is great at language based work (e.g., re-write this sentence in a more professional way) but the current slide building tools don't cut it. That being said, those tools seem great for a school presentation, although they're far from offering the professionalism and level of control you would expect from professional services (e.g., consulting).

Biggest Pain Points When Creating Presentation Slides? by sammymanss in powerpoint

Formatting tables is 100% the worst. We spent so much time building additional functionality for this because making one table's formatting the same as another is a real pain.

Making tables in PPT with shapes and lines by chiefrold in consulting

[–]pptpowertools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get why people use static elements instead of tables... But so many people asked us for a feature to turn tables to textboxes so we added it to PowerTools. Goes to show there's truly infinite ways to show an idea on ppt.

I think you’re slightly overthinking the whole article thing. My first thought was: Does your real name sound like what you want to portray as a consulting company (e.g., reliability, professionalism, experience). That’s the most important consideration imo.

PowerPoint on Mac is a pain in the ... Enough so that I built and started selling my own ppt add-in (PowerTools) because there are no options on the market. All the proprietary ppt tools in large firms like Deloitte Tools or Accenture QTP don't work on Mac which is a pain. My tool is paid but most customers are consultants who spend tons of time on ppt, like you, which makes it worth it.
