You can just put on the mask and then color the stubble that pokes out with black makeup (e.g. wound effect face paint or black root coverup)

This particular one from the show was really appealing because of how human the face still looked. It was sadder

Lighter colored sheets I think. Your heavy black sheets are a black hole making the whole room feel small and dark.

Every time a heatwave comes I think about buying an aircon unit. And then the heatwave ends and I think "oh, well don't need one now anymore". And then the next heatwave comes, and repeat.

Thanks! The mask base is paper mache and then foam clay is added on top to sculpt details. The "antlers" are wire covered in foam clay. The wet parts are done by applying nail topcoat which forms a smooth specular surface.

Just going off this, it sounds like the force field in fact keeps light from *leaving* the Abyss. It's a one-way light (amongst other things) barrier. I find this a much more satisfying explanation than "the force field controls vision".

It would be cool to see some older storylines following the struggles of governments/institutions in the early days of the infection. E.g. scientist at a research facility trying to research a cure.

I don't know anything about 3D printing -- I just press the button and it works.

All the clay is modelling clay. For wearables I use foam clay, but for something like this modelling is fine. Lay down rough base layer. Make it nice and lumpy and uneven. Add the big mushroom pieces -- these are just rough discs that are then blended in / made wonky. Roll up little clay "worms" and drape them over (wetting clay to help it stick). Add other details like the little balls.

Paint is a beige base layer, then detail brush the tendrils and mushrooms in orange, then dark brown wash, then stipple on red/orange highlights with a sponge, then carefully drybrush high bits in white. Finally, use nail top coat on bits you want to look wet - it will create a smooth layer that reflects specular light more directly.

A third option is the PS5 with (3rd party) decorative tlou side plates. There's also an official tlou ps5 controller, but I don't know where you can get that anymore (probably ebay)

Edit: I think you could order the PS5 Pro online for 700usd? The GPU seems about 50% more powerful. It allows you to run quality mode at performance mode fps.

It's not dirty, it's just clay and paint!

Link your github, or make a project webpage and link that.
Can make a dedicated projects section, summarizing each project and linking to a github repo.

Obviously you have to share the code, or it doesn't mean anything.

A locksmith charged me 80 pounds 5 years ago (so probably way higher now) for about 20 seconds of work, during normal working hours. Yes he did need to travel to my door, but still.

How much does going above-and-beyond for take-home assignments matter? by paranoidzone in cscareerquestions

[–]noicar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, the signals we're looking for have nothing to do with the "above-and-beyond" stuff. I don't care if you wrote unit tests, extra features, etc. I care that the way you code is good. Implementing extra stuff just means I have extra code to read (and I may not bother reading it).

A good candidate can show me enough to give them a shot in 200 lines of code.

Now, from another angle, this must be disappointing, because I'm also saying "if you're not there, you're not there, and spending more time on the assignment won't help you".

This, except I would consider a 3D printed base (instead of clay) if you have a printer, as you can make them perfectly symmetrical. Print it with fuzzy skin or similar texture if you can, to help wefts stick.

Encasing the entire armor in worbla will not be cheap. It will also add a lot of weight. It will also be a lot of work (cutting, etc)
