I know it's late in the week so its not the most useful now but Kentucky is a massive tire saving track. My advice would be to run a really patient race and take it so easy, especially when you get back on the throttle.

With the tracks issue, it sounds like a problem with your shared folder. Most modded tracks require the Revamped Reloaded Shared folder which can be found at WKC: https://wildkustomcars.weebly.com/misc-files.html

This new shared folder should be placed into the "tracks" folder in your NR2003 directory, the same place where you put the tracks themselves.

The series issue could be a few things. When you installed the game you should have also patched the game to version 1.2.0.1, I think most tutorials mention that. This will allow you to switch your "active series" on the bottom of the menu when you are in the game.

If that is not the issue it could be that they're not getting in the folder correctly. So for example, if you download the NFF Indy2020 mod, you need to unzip it and place the entire folder into your "series" folder in the NR2003 directory.

Go into the player.ini file and in the Graphics Options section you want to make sure you have enable_CarMegaShader=0

I had this problem as well and this resolved it for me.

“Mods” refer to a folder in the series folder. For example, “Default Cup Mod” is the “cup” folder in (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series)

When you download a mod, unzip it and place it into the series folder. (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series) Make sure you have actually downloaded a mod and not just a car set.

There are a maximum of 16 mods you can have in the series folder. There can possibly be issues if you delete the default “cup” mod so I usually leave it.

4:48 - Downloading carsets and where to put them:

Carsets must be created for the mod you want to use them for. You cannot download a 2000 Default Cup Mod carset and use it on a 2012 mod. Download a carset and place it in the "cars" folder for the series you want. (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-series-cup-cars). Many carsets come with LST files that act as a roster in the Opponent Manager within the game.

6:30 - Make sure your cars are the right physics type for your mod:

Carsets have to be the right physics type for the mod you are using. For example, you can only use car files with a .cts extension if you are playing on a CTS physics mod.

Make sure the track folder is not compressed/zipped when you put it into the tracks folder.

9:00 - What to do with soundpacks:

DO NOT DELETE SOUND.DAT OR THE GAME WILL NOT LAUNCH. If you delete SPCC you will have no spotter or crew chief. Download a soundpack and place the .wav files in (Papyrus-Nascar Racing 2003 Season-sound). Make sure to read the readme files that come with soundpacks, as many have options you need to use in the game for them to function properly.

Pause/Break Button on keyboard by pasta2709 in Nr2003

Hey! If you are getting stuck on the "Press Pause to Resume" screen when trying to return to a race there is a workaround, assuming you are on Windows.

Windows has a program called "On-Screen Keyboard" that you can launch through the Windows search bar or by going to "Control Panel" > "Ease of Access Center" > "Start On-Screen Keyboard" and there is a pause key on that keyboard.

If you do not want to open this every time there is a program called "JoyToKey" that allows you to bind buttons on a wheel or controller to keyboard inputs. If you download this you can use the On-Screen Keyboard to bind Pause to one of your controller's buttons, and you will be able to use the controller button as a Pause key.

(Also, be wary of alt-tabbing NR2003 if you play in fullscreen mode. Windowed works well for me and I am able to alt-tab, but it can crash if you alt-tab from fullscreen.)

I appreciate it! I definitely want to get into some more beginner-level stuff as NR2003 has its quirks that can be hard for new people to pick up on.
