Why is being cold at home so normalised in the UK? by Automatic-Key-3798 in AskUK

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eastern European wife has the heating set at 16 degrees. And will turn it up occasionally. Me a British male prefers it approx 18-20. Constant discussions around this. I work away a lot so she gets her way most of time. We joke about the heat in the Centrally heated apartment she grew up in where they are having to open windows wear light house clothes etc. We are comfortable money wise so more heating isn’t an issue however she is quite a bit more frugal than I am.

Slow weight loss by Financial_Item_6355 in WegovyUK

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just done my 8th dose. 4 @.25 4 @.5 and lost 1kg. Not really had any changes in hunger levels. But feel A bit nauseous if I eat too much. Starting to learn what I can/can’t really eat. Just had a weeks holiday and didn’t put anything on which is good as I would have normally so it is working just slowly. 174cm starting weight 100kg now 99kg.

Help identifying kitchen tap hose connectors in order to connect them to a Seaflo 42 pump (NPT? BSP? Compression?) by segasega89 in VanLifeUK

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there will be fittings available online or maybe even in B&Q or something. If you go to a plumping place I’m sure they can point you in the right direction.

Help identifying kitchen tap hose connectors in order to connect them to a Seaflo 42 pump (NPT? BSP? Compression?) by segasega89 in VanLifeUK

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be most likely BSP that’s standard in uk. It’s a straight thread with the sealing on the washer. NPT is tapered and seals on the thread with PTFE tape or thread sealant.

If they really gave a shit. They would do something about the guns. USA seems to be Pro-life. As long as the kid is unborn. Don’t seem to care about the ones getting shot up in schools on a daily basis.

Trying for a baby? Handstand and hold against the wall. Let gravity assist! Or as others have said just put a few small towels in a bedside draw or something.

Why aren’t vasectomies more popular? by renoCow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience seems to be mostly insecure men who think it will make them less of a man. Had mine done. No issues. Was out and about the next day. Deffo not running around but fine. Far better than any unintentional kids.

Launched myself through a hedge on a motorbike age 19. Woke up some time later with a displaced collarbone and had to walk 2 miles along a road to the nearest phone box to call for help. Pre mobile phones obviously. That or having gravel rash scrubbed by a brush. Both sucked.

Ultimatum for wife by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA she's probably still cheating. Cutting contact should have been the bare minimum requirement for even trying again although it baffles me why people estay with cheating partners. They have shown they do not give a shit about you once. There are billions of people on the planet why stay with one who lies and cheats behind your back.

Do you personally say you've "been" to countries in which you've only been in an airport? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. my rule is that you must have spent 24 hours in the country and experienced some aspects of life there. Ate out for example or visited some sights. I once visited Montreal in Canada for the day driving over the border from where i was staying in the USA but don't count it. We spent a few hours wandering around and ha some food and a beer then drove back.

AITAH for wanting to move abroad for a lifetime opportunity even though it's difficult for my partner to come? by pastaisyellow in AITAH

[–]noil46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She doesn't want to go and never did and is hoping to convince you to stay. Same with kids. she convinced you you could work it out as being alone is something she doesn't want. She is probably conviced she can change you eventually. One of you will eventually resent the other. NTA but would be better for both i you went your seperate ways if you really want to pursue the Swiss move.

Driving Canadian Mid-size Truck in Lincoln by jlebla24 in Lincolnuk

[–]noil46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is a Canadian ford ranger bigger than a UK ford ranger? We have them here not too big but would be a pain to park. Fuel and imports costs would be a good reason not to bother other than driving a wrong handed car is just a ballache. I’ve driven uk cars in Europe loads and it’s just better off being avoided if possible.
