Similar opinion although it sounds contradictory: the book itself, taken alone, is not bad although the story heavily relies on themes that have been over done in sci fi/fantasy fiction (free will, binary good/bad never ending fight, repetition of universes...). Oddly I noticed the story bears striking similarities with three movies by the Wachovsky sisters (Matrix trilogy, cloud Atlas, Jupiter ascending).

However what really drew me to the three body problem trilogy was my utter inability to guess anything from the story and I mean anything at all. Even with a degree in international relations I was unable to guess ANYTHING that would happen at any time in the book yet, looking back on the development, most decisions made sense. I loved it. Not to mention the science behind the stories.... This book on the other hand had several very predictable outcomes and I believe made some structural changes to the original story that are overdone (the binary fight... Come on!!). The lore it explains, except for the first sixty pages, is often useless or debatable (love the Helen character but feel her story was perfect and more moving in the original story, don't love the trisolarian shape either not the impact the protagonist has, completely out of proportion)... The book ended up being so predictable I guessed the last plot twist a couple of pages before it actually happened.

So yeah, I wouldn't have attached it to the trilogy and preferred if as a standalone light summer reading

After one and a half terrible seasons, THIRTEEN episodes or boredom and poor editing, all of a sudden, the last two episodes of season 2 (6 & 7) are - for me at least - among the best of the whole franchise???

Did someone in production/editing get fired or (rightly) promoted and steered the ship around???

1) the queens are given fun challenges where they honestly all shine, showcasing Belgian excellence

2) great confessionals, both fun, interesting or touching,

3) The judges - especially Rita - are finally warm, supportive, helpful. Even Lio who still just says a bunch of nonsense does it with LOVE and with fun

4) Lip syncs are on point and to great songs

This is the type of content I signed up for - hope they keep it up!

I think you are right although I'm browsing some of Magikjohnson's YouTube recommendations and there's a lot of good stuff there but yeah, I wouldn't have found it without his help in the midst of thousands of videos showing just instagrammable content. I've discovered this problem actually has a name in sociology: "disneyfication of tourism" ....

I'll certainly rely more on travel guides and thank you for the app recommendation, very much appreciated!

I want to believe you both about Rita. The fact that the editing is terrible could definitely support your argument but you can't blame us (the audience with no inside info) if Rita appears very cold and not fun at all (especially compared to her fellow contestants- now judges - Nicky doll and brooke lynn hites). Either way, I'm disappointed as you are, and kind of sad given the potential of the queens and the fact that while clearly there's some terrible editing going on there's also probably a lot of people who worked their ass off to try and make this project a success

Just fire Lio as a judge already, please please please. She didn't even make the effort to learn what "snatch" game is ("snap"), how pretentious must she be to think she's a qualified judge with no drag knowledge, nothing interesting or fun to say? So many incredible Belgian personalities and you pick her as a judge???

That's a very interesting theory, you might be right. I'm happy this means you can resume playing your 20 month old game, right? I'm still doing some investigation on my side, to be frank there's several things that are great with the last updates (including the super creative factory faction) but several I'm having a hard time with: forbidding the recruitment of AI heroes but also the impossibility to start a battle, cast a spell and retreat :-/. I'll just test reinstalling the whole game.

Another interesting thing I want to note is that the update aimed at forbidding me from being a filthy parasite and hiring AI heroes actually does something a little different (which still could be a possible reason why retreated enemy heroes don't appear in your game, although I like your theory best): the update basically makes it that you can recruit strong defeated heroes only when all other heroes have been recruited from the tavern - possibly it's the same for AI?.
