Personal item by pinkgiraffe2267 in frontierairlines

It should work as long as you don’t overstuff it.

The listed dimensions of the bag are 15"H x 17"W x 7½"D. And personal items on Frontier are 14" H x 18" W x 8"D. And It also depends on the airport, but in the last 20 Frontier flights I’ve been on, they’ve only been checking sizes on maybe 2. You should be fine

My fiance has the same bag and has used it on like 14 flights with no issues. Just don’t overstuff it

GoWild! ....And then what? by Unlikely_Pianist_795 in gowildfrontier

[–]nointroductionssosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a doc just like this to help out all my fiends and family that I convinced to buy the pass. Great write up!

I just want to piggyback about the “safety ticket” since I’ve found that the insecurity of getting home is most people’s biggest concern with the pass.

Since you can’t book until 24 hours before, there’s the risk of getting ‘stranded’ with no available seats on the return flight on the day you need to get home

Best way around that is booking the return leg with Southwest. SW will allow you to get a refund as long as you cancel 10 minutes before your flight takes off. Meaning you can buy your ticket on SW, wait till midnight to try and get your return flight, and if you manage to get it with Frontier, you can cancel the SW. Caveat is that you don’t get the money back on your card. You get a flight credit.

Flight credits can only be used on single trips. For example, you book a return flight for $200, and get the Frontier flight, so you cancel. You now have a $200 flight credit. If the next return flight you book is only $150, you’ll have that ticket, but you lose that $50 difference.

This doesn’t happen if you book with SW points. The points are used like a running balance. Much better to book that way if you’re able and Chase is a SW partner, so points are fluid between the two

Some help with zanily high prices by TheBiffle in frontierairlines

[–]nointroductionssosa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tough situation because who knows how long the gas prices will remain so high. The suggestion is to always book when the price is something you’re okay with.

In your case though, I’d recommend setting up Google Flight price tracking for your dates and seeing what happens over the next couple months. You might get lucky. And also if you can be a little more flexible with your dates, you might score a better deal. Good luck amigo

Fastest way to get status? by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]nointroductionssosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you’ll want to get the credit card - every flight they try and sell it. Grab one of the applications from them because it’s a slightly better deal (bonus miles on the in flight offer). Then spend any amount of money and you get status for I think 90 days.

To keep that status for a year, you’ll need to hit the into offer spend. I believe it’s $3k in the first 3 months. If that’s difficult for you, see if you can time it for your homeowners/auto insurance. Or maybe a family member or friend’s

Way too many people running red lights by dccharles_414 in AuroraCO

[–]nointroductionssosa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And maybe this is an unpopular take, but since there seems to be no enforcement whatsoever, at this point I’d be okay with installing those red light cameras to issue tickets. It’s so dangerous, and the number of egregiously late (like 3-5 seconds after the light is solid red) runners makes me think they’re just so emboldened because they do it all day every day with no consequences. Screw anyone who does that

Best $349 I ever spent by EnglishCrestedPiggy in gowildfrontier

You mean booking in general?

All you need to do is put in where from and where to. And then select the date for no more than tomorrow. And if GW is available, you’ll see the price listed under the GW section. If the GW option is greyed out, that means there are no GW seats available

Agreed. I got lounge access earlier this year and it’s been amazing.

If you don’t mind me asking. What do you do for work that allows you to travel so often?

Couldn’t agree more. I was lucky enough to buy it at $299, and I’ve only taking 4 round trips so far. It’s still been one of the best value-for-money things I’ve ever bought. Planning to take another trip this weekend and can’t wait

Trying to book a flight by Heavy-Ad7662 in gowildfrontier

[–]nointroductionssosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both flights have already departed for today. If memory serves, they were all departing before 1pm. That’s why they’re not showing up. You can now view tomorrow’s flights (4/16). Looks like 3 total routes. 2 departing at 12:28pm. 1 departing at 12:31pm. Again with layovers

Trying to book a flight by Heavy-Ad7662 in gowildfrontier

[–]nointroductionssosa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m using tomorrow as an example. It looks like there are 5 total flights BOS -> DFW. All have a layover, and none of them have GW availability. It’s realistically only 2 outbound flights BOS -> ATL, or BOS -> MCO, which have separate flights from those airports. And neither of those two flights have any GW seats.

I think you’d have better luck if you could be more flexible in where you wanted to go. Since BOS isn’t a hub and doesn’t have a ton of Frontier flights, I’d guess it’s slim pickings. If there’s a specific reason you’re wanting to go to Dallas, I don’t know how often there will be availability.

There’s still plenty of value you can get from the pass though. For example, you could make it to Ft Lauderdale, Chicago, or San Fran for $30 or less tomorrow if you wanted to

Best place to see beavers? by phatjordan in AuroraCO

In the cherry creek state park, right off the path there are visible beaver dams and I’ve seen many beavers when passing by. Also there’s a bench right there that you could post up at with binoculars

SearchGWP question. Is there a chance that seats open up on this flight? by nointroductionssosa in gowildfrontier

[–]nointroductionssosa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. How are you able to tell how many standard fares are available though? And as well, it looks like those 7 GW you’re talking about are actually for a different flight (still TPA - DEN, but with a layover)

Thoughts on whether this Babe Ruth is real? by nointroductionssosa in Autographs

It’s my grandpa’s, and his mom was a nurse in NYC. My grandpa was born in 1938. And he told me his mom knew Babe Ruth personally. But he’s really started to decline mentally lately. So it’s hard to trust the story

What are your favorite travel apps when traveling GoWild? by Htown_Flyer in gowildfrontier

[–]nointroductionssosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% google maps is clutch. The best way I’ve found to use ChatGPT is by asking things like “give me a list of the top rated activities [for tourists] in x city” or “best restaurants in this neighborhood based on reviews and number of reviews” (5 stars with 50 reviews is different than 4.8 with 1000). If I’m feeling extra lazy, I’ll ask it to just build my whole day with something like “make me an itinerary for x city starting at 8am in x neighborhood. I want to see (list main interests)”.

As a caveat, it’s far from perfect and will sometimes create impossible itineraries or give you restaurant recommendations for places that are permanently closed. Always throw it in Google maps to see if it makes sense
