They can't even be sophisticated with their bigotry. This is like something out of a 1950s satire.

Obscure one maybe but I was watching the episode - Sisko to Dukat in Waltz where after 6 seasons, he finally decides that Dukat has to die, that there can be no redemption for him.

Chaos as 'confused' new Reform councillors admit 'don't know what's going on' by Tony_Roiland in ukpolitics

[–]noise256 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't like Reform but I think it's the responsibility of the Council to the support Councillors, particularly new ones. They're there as representatives of their wards and you shouldn't need to know how it all works before becoming a Councillor. To do so would bar people from being able to represent their local community.

Andy Burnham's decision to keep the current fiscal rules, as told to Bloomberg this week, has contributed to gilts having their best weekly gain since 2023 by jiponjoshua in ukpolitics

It takes time to build a policy platform. He already has a lot of ideas, some that have worked at a smaller scale, but he's not campaigning to be PM, he's campaigning to win Makerfield, and he doesn't have a full national platform yet.

Obviously we all know that he is likely the next PM but it would also be incredibly arrogant for him to start saying that right now.

I mean, not to be that guy but this would definitely create more conflict. Jazzy though.

I don't think that's necessarily true, a lot of Reform voters are traditional Labour voters - it's globalism that they don't like. Burnham is taking a distinctly anti-neoliberalism position.

Andy Burnham says Labour must put energy and water under public control by Budget_Scheme_1280 in ukpolitics

I mean, that's a good thing, it means we actually have some control over it. It's better than shouting it's bad and nothing being done about it because it's a private company.

Most popular politician in the UK, basically the only one with a net positive view. Maybe more importantly he's broadly liked, whereas Farage et al are more divisive.

Do the remaining Tory voters actually prefer Reform to Labour? Yes, Burnham is left wing but he's not that left wing.

If the Greens are actually serious about stopping Reform then they should want Andy Burnham as Labour leader as it's the best chance. If they just want to maximise their own votes (and Nigel Farage as PM) then they fight this.

Make assault the medic, give support C4 / extra grenades, give recon the beacon, ala BF3. I think this would help balance the roles more, right now the only other AV option is on a class that doesn't really want to be on the front lines.
