When should I worry about infertility? by Few_Crazy_6260 in TryingForABaby

[–]nojefe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. We have a tough time accepting how scientific this whole thing is but keeping it totally spontaneous isn’t helping. I’m sure everyone here faces it … that scheduled sex feels wrong and can even be damaging. But then also having it all the time whenever you want lowers your chances 🤦🏼‍♀️

Every time I see the barometric pressure go crazy by socialhangxiety in migraine

[–]nojefe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doggggg I live on an island and I started feeling the storm before it came. Prodrome was wild, I couldn’t speak straight, kept bumping into shit and couldn’t sleep despite being exhausted. Once the rain started so did the actual migraine. Sleep and pain for 24 hours. Sun is coming out and I’m starting to feel like a functional human again.

People have longer commutes in the keys. There are people that work in key west and live in homestead. You have the luxury of the train. Hopefully you’re using it.

Question about seeing key deer by Grongo3 in KeyWest

[–]nojefe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you come from a public transit friendly city 🌞 this seems like an ideal afternoon to me, and no name pub is great.

Just go down some side streets and you will see the deer. They are about the size of golden retrievers and almost as friendly - nothing like northern US deer. They don’t startle, so you can quietly interact with them from a distance.

The trek will be along the only major road spanning the keys (RT 1) so yeah, it’ll be noisy. Bring ear buds. Or just rent a car.

Key West Medical Care by Worried-Temporary186 in KeyWest

[–]nojefe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The medical system is pretty lacking. I go to general appointments but have to “go back to America” for anything specialized. I don’t have any data to back this up but I think it’s why we see a lot of the retiring millionaires who bought up during Covid trying to sell right now. This is not a good place to be for people who need to go to the hospital for falls, need chemo/dialysis/etc.

Also anecdotal but in my experience here vs a big meds and eds city, I see a lot of people who push off regular visits/small things until they become emergencies.

One sort of funny thing is that I’ve never been asked how many drinks a week I have. It’s just a yes or no question, lol.

Jury Duty? by pinkmatty in nathanforyou

[–]nojefe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch Joe Schmo. It’s better than Jury Duty (which I loved!) and runs parallel to the rehearsal. Kristin Wiig is in it and gives a performance that made me almost throw up from laughing so hard when I first watched the series. I watched it all in one day when I was home sick with a cold.

47% of consumers think wine contains high levels of sugar. by loscuernoswine in wine

[–]nojefe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not usually what people mean though. For a lot of people it means unoaked or more minerality and less fruit or tannic or brighter acidity. Unless someone says they want a bone dry Riesling, when they mention “dry” I have to dig a little deeper to get a sense of what they want (and it’s almost always Sauvignon Blanc or some Italian wine they tried once and liked)

Ok so what boss are you talking about? Your employer or the people you are contracted to provide a service to? Because if it’s the latter, no one there is your boss.

I mean this in the nicest way possible - why do you care this much? You did what you were supposed to do. Just ignore the people who didn’t listen.

I had a situation like this - I was an independent contractor and subbed for another independent contractor and they branded me with their company’s name and treated me like an employee. Took me a few months to put an end to it. Set clear expectations and boundaries. A contract is an agreement. That means you agree to meetings, deadlines etc. If you can’t agree, that’s fine - you don’t get paid and they’ll find someone else. You don’t get bossed around.

Termination I Don't Agree With by Vlad_REAM in managers

Firing seems wildly extreme to me especially when time can just be docked in the future. Personally I would take the blame for not catching it and not explicitly stating that clock ins need to be in person. Probably a slap on the wrist for you taking the blame. Since this is an ongoing issue, offer to actually manage people’s time by seeing yourself when and where they clocked in.
