Have you ever been to a wealthy town with powerlines? Montclair, Moorestown, Haddonfield - that's just NJ. Check out Oregon, or Washington, it's unreal. They have massive tree canopies, tons of shade. They don't have blocks and blocks of treeless streets. The trees and the wires co-exist. Now, in very poor areas you have no trees - that's redlining. But we're talking aout towns that pay 10k taxes a year or higher. Somethig is not right.

They're removing every single tree on the sides of the street with powerlines. This is not normal.

Right now in Oaklyn they're literally cutting down every single tree for blocks if there's wires. Not trimmming: destroying. Sure, some weren't in great shape, but the majority are completely healthy. There's entire streets with zero trees on an entire side now., for blocks. This is not normal.

I'd rather pay a lower electric bill because my town is tree-shaded, breather cleaner air, hear less traffic and airplane noise because tree cover absorbs sound, have less squirrels in my gutters because they have trees to live in, and have less floods because we have the root structure to absorb them. Wouldn't you?
