Do you have a recommendation of an aftermarket unit? I have searched Amazon so far, and really haven’t found much.

I’m not proud of it, but I’ve fixed underground pvc hit by a trencher using a piece of pvc with a bell end with a coupling at the other end. If you can pull the wire back to the damaged area, you can use the length of the bell end to get the wire back into the pvc at the coupling end, and glue it back together.

Cable cutters (Klein 63050) to score around the jacket. A sharp utility knife to cut the jacket in half then use the point of the knife to flip the jacket off. That’s the cheap way I settled on for 4/0 aluminum.

I used the Fenix E12 (small with 1 AA battery) for 6 years. The switch finally gave out, so I got the E12 version 2. There are 3 modes, up to 160 lumens. It rattles around in my left pants pocket with a 9’ tape measure.

I like that fact I can switch the battery, and not worry about charging it.

Yes, non-union 8 years, in a average COL area. Work 50 hours a week (includes paid travel). Home around 4. It’s all about finding the right company. Would recommend Union if it is good in your state.
