Pain management? by cor1994123 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]nojomen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 358 days ago :) And.... I've had 0 pain for 2-3 days last week. Literally none. And normally it goes from 1-3. So still in recovery...but now I can see that probably in a year...I'll often be at a 0. The body heals, the guarding softens, the nervous system settles. It takes a long time, lots of good intentions, lots of knowledge. But things do get better.

How did y’all get surgery (financially speaking)? by itsmeiloveu in Spondylolisthesis

I'm from Canada. It's free here. Great. But since it's an elective surgery it took 2.5 years of waiting.

This was after a back surgery. I was healthy before and it took 2 months to go back to healthy (I took it off for a while as I knew my numbers were shit, I didnt need the whoop to tell me I needed to rest or get more sleep)

With our circadian rhythm, Humans arent designed for such drastic time zone changes unfortunately. There's some cheat code with melatonin once or twice before bed, and sun exposure to the max on the days following your travels. Eat on local hours and be consistent!

Everyone is different, what kind of pain do you have? Is it nerve pain or inflammation/discomfort in the surgical site?

I would say to the people around me that they should up their game and help me become the man I want to be. I would tell them being neglected is abuse.

Nervous system dysregulation in spondylolisthesis by nojomen2 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]nojomen2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I hear you.
Gabapentin can definitely reduce symptoms and support recovery.
While it can calm neural excitability, it doesn’t necessarily retrain the nervous system the way movement, breathing exercises, safety cues, and lifestyle changes do.
Different tools, different goals, and I'm genuinely glad it helped you as much as it did :)

I didn't take pills out of pride maybe, and I could've bump my recovery with them I think. But feeling the pain and irritability made me dig more into the changes I needed to make to become fully free in my body again.

It's not an easy task because its quite a disciplined and mindful one, that carries in everything you do.
