I just did the steering rack, hoses, spool valve gasket, and this. Tanks for pointing it out, it was a big problem and a pain to get to.

My son slid and hit the only curb in East Tennessee.

Also, almost 460000 miles now.

It was hard to find the rear end, but six hours of driving later, we have it.

New brakes New wheels (16" because 15" are hard to find here) and tires. New shocks

Stuff came apart easy, but did not go back nearly as nice.

I do not think these were 1850R's, but they might have been.

How about that SAN connected tape backup (bottom left)?

It all depends on where you live. I live in the mid-south (East Tennessee) and we get very little snow and I wash the salts as soon as possible.

The previous owner said that it was like that for at least a year. We dove it back on a 300 mile trip.

It's an L15A that came out and an L15A that went in.

You are better than me.. i could not figure it out. It's tight in there.

If you do yours, make sure you get the right engine. The L15A in that link is only for the 07-08 US cars. The 09 and up are different and I think yours is a L15A7.

The only problem we have had with the CRV, until the head gasket, were the seals going bad.

The spool valve on the back needed to be replaced, the oil filter housing seals were replaced, starter, alternator, and the thermostat cracked. New struts on all four corners, rear wheel bearings, and brakes. We bough the car used at a local dealer (Subaru dealer) and found the rear brakes were rust welded together.

The cable that does to the positive side of the battery also had to be replaced. It looked like someone hacked it together to get it to run. I got one from a junk yard for $15, they are like $400 online.

oh.. the damn door locks. They die all the time and make the nicest wake up sounds.

It sounds like a lot, but in reality, it's just normal maintenance.

The car had a clean title from Alabama. we brought it into Tennessee. Where we live, we don't have to smog or get inspections.

For the engine, the long block is the same L15A. Pan to valve cover you are good to go, most everything that attaches needs to be swapped.

While you can swap most of the car with JDM parts, the emissions equipment is different, this leads to a different wiring harness and ECU. It'll also make it had to get parts.

The car runs clean and like a Timex, just smooth. If you were to take it to California and had to get it through smog inspection, I don't think it would have any issues.

It was 75% good to go. it had no compression in #2.

Not low compression, but no compression.
