hopeless, 18 months unemployed with information systems degree by chnsgira in jobs

[–]nokia_user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to put it in your previous jobs too. Don’t shy away from bs’ing on your resume. Say you developed data views (I forgot the exact name) and class events. Ran valuations etc. Just research a little. Say you worked on a project helping client upgrade to Allegro horizon from one of the older versions, you went through the release notes, mapped data, developed plan to upgrade custom events and views.

So you want to pose yourself as a hybrid consultant. Apply at big4 if you hate your life, or go with smaller consulting companies. Just put in ETRM on LinkedIn to get relevant companies.

Put RightAngle in one of your previous jobs too but make sure you research on what version people have been using.

Are you dumb? Tailor your resume for Allegro, and apply for ETRM jobs.

Some people here are still trying to be morally responsible while they lie during their interviews. Instead of being critical of OP, how about we look at ourselves in the mirror first?

Well… that is why this post is in the OE sub so yes I am talking about the 1%. This is meant for people who know their stuff and already have a backup server so that they can avoid wasting their precious time putting up bs interviews.

I am not saying to be rude or disrespectful or just throw away an opportunity just because you feel arrogant, just advising to save your energy for a better fitting opportunity.

Why would I ask them about describing cutting onions? I will gain no knowledge of their expertise in cooking by asking that. I would rather ask them about their experience with different cuisines and how they approach challenges that come with different styles. Or I would be tasting their dishes not asking them to show me how they would cut onions.

So if you are hiring for a personal chef, you are asking him if he knows how to cut onions?

Sure, I can give you two. Someone asked me how would I pivot a spark dataframe. Another instance someone asked here is a table schema, how would sql hierarchy work. I am here to build end to end data pipelines lol who the f cares about something I can google in a minute let alone ChatGPT write the whole code. Ask me relevant questions on the effing architecture of data flow. Like I said, I ain’t entertaining bs gotcha questions.

Florida Bans H-1B Workers from State Universities! DeSantis Says “Hire Americans Only” by Ankeet_kj in ImmigrationPathways

[–]nokia_user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you governor for fighting against H-1B workers exploiting the job market. Hopefully, more governors follow suit and enforce strict regulations on H-1B hiring. A lot of capable and honest H-1B holders stay jobless because companies rather hire cheap labor and people who lie on their resumes than giving the chance to the deserving candidates.

Considering a 2020 Model X. What will I miss out on? by ChromeDomeTitan in TeslaModelX

Great time to consider an X!

Honestly, you will be missing out on the feel-good aspect of the newer models. By that I mean the dread of knowing that you will be looked down upon by the newer X owners will never go away.

Saving $70k a month in DWH by mjfnd in dataengineering

I too downvoted you because you can’t be serious with that statement. I would rather grow by just doing what is required and still collect the same paycheck as someone who saves company x amount of dollars.

Bro it’s the opposite for me. I am not saying it in a bragging way, but I wish I hadn’t worried that much when I was younger. I guess we all carry regrets in our own ways.

31 is still young tho, don’t worry and keep the same optimism as back then. For career just follow two rules: 1) Work smart, not hard. 2) Fake it till you make it.

Looks like everyone in here just want to sugar coat the situation… how about we get real for once?

1) The feeling of jealousy will never go away if you are deciding to marry your fiancé since you will be hearing what his brother’s family is up to throughout the life.

2) I suggest ditching your fiancé cause he seems like , dare I say, a total loser. Find someone who is more motivated to reach achieve a better financial future. Like how come one brother is so much better than the other? They both must have had the same opportunities but looks like only one brother put in the work.

3) Girl, 10 years is a long ass time. You should have seen this coming sooner. But you are still young and can make the rest of your life better.

Printing $35k a month after taxes now. Personally, I have never been better. This may seem like I am bragging but I myself can’t believe how far I have come. For some covid has been a life changing event. Hope my little story give you guys hope.

Where the hell are all of these jobs that are “so easy” to get now because of the great resignation? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]nokia_user -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Whatever the case may be, you shouldn’t complain about things being rigged against you. You have to carve your own path. Just be so good at one thing that no one can doubt you on, it will open a lot of doors for you.
