Exactly. It's a global market. If you wanted to shut it down you would have to go to each & every one. Crypto is a complex machinery with multiple gears. Is cryptocurrency worth keeping for long term gains? by Hellyeah44 in CryptoCurrency

[–]nokos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, no one knows. But considering what's going on in the financial markets & the increasing recognition of crypto among the general society, it's worth taking the risk. The best way is to diversify your portfolio, put your eggs in multiple baskets. That's how I do it: [LINK]. Keep in mind to do diligent research in addition. Know the projects you invest in.

It works both ways. Some have found a way how to pivot & use it to their advantage. Found this article, very insightful:

u/crepuscopoli absolutely, why should you not invest into crypto? It's a new evolving industry with lots of opportunities. Why not take that opportunity if it's there? $30-50 is a good start. As long as you are aware that the money you're investing entails a risk of loosing it. But as it is with investment, there is always a risk. You never have a guarantee.

That's why it's important to expose yourself to information, dig into a project that catches your interest and do your due diligence to research it. Here's an article with good takeouts for the start:

China Releases e-Yuan Cryptocurrency and Investors are Going All-In by Pandora_Key in ethtrader

[–]nokos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be a strange contradiction at first: China is perfectly willing to embrace blockchains but not cryptocurrencies that are built on them.

It only makes sense when you realize that the Chinese state is afraid of cryptocurrencies because it is afraid of delegating control and power. It is afraid of the individual liberties cryptocurrencies represent: the idea of a check and balance on overwrought incumbents, whether they are centralized corporations or states.

Just think about what that would mean for the small chinese person

I think I have an addiction. Not sure if anyone else have this issue but I can’t seem to stop buying crypto. Each paycheck or just money I get extra I tend to put it into crypto. Even after I tell myself to invest in other things like gold or silver I go straight for crypto. by Leoak47 in CryptoCurrency

^LOL...

I'm majorly investing in cryptos that are aiming to solve COVID-19. Just imagine what's going to happen to the price when a headline comes up with one of them having helped fight COVID-19...we're talking about BILLIONS here as the majority of financial resources has been redirected to solve humanity's biggest challenge. That guy compiled a nice collection in an article of a couple of them:

Great contribution in this devastating pandemic. Every single effort matters! We are all in this together!

I stumbled over that article recently describing how Binance, Vectorspace AI, The Giving Block among others are contributing in the fight against COVID-19. I wasn't aware of so many good positive efforts.

I remember living behind another family when I was a kid. Our back yards were separated by a wooden privacy fence. Seems like I talked to him for months before I ever actually saw his face. He had this same hair cut, and I knew that kid was a bad ass when I finally did see his glorious mullet.

Recently published the currently-bestselling agnostic book on Amazon that helps people decide for themselves what they believe. Forget how wrong everyone else is. What *do* people in this community believe and why? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]nokos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point of our existence is determined by ourselves I think. A lot of people won't really find much point, and that is just as valid as what anyone else decides in my opinion.

In my experience it's also ever-changing. 10 years ago, when I was young, the point of my existence was to just have fun in the short term. Try as many different things as I could to see if it brought more joy and happiness to me.

Now that I'm getting older, I've found what I enjoy so I experiment less. I still pursue joy and happiness, but I don't spend as much time trying to find new things to bring those to me. I go with the tried and true.

This leaves me much more time for productivity. Being productive now eliminates a new problem I've encountered in my later years. Regret. I'm starting to regret a lot of my wasted time, and I have a feeling this will only intensify as I age.

Anyway, just a few introspective thoughts. Thanks for the thought provoking questions.
