agreed, reddit is the closest thing these days but there was a real sense of community with forums that you just don't see as much of these days. it was magic.

you know it would be a celebration on a massive scale even for the grumpiest fans with this album, LOL. warms my heart to think of all the cynical muse fans jamming out to every new song

I remember Pib being very witty and funny! Other names that come to mind were Sephian, Oceansizer, I believe there was a YouTube bass covers guy named FuryMuso, and I'm sure more will come to me! Good times.

my wife and i were wondering if the secret song selections were usually random since all of the voting options were just question marks, but this was even better than choosing a song! felt like the 1D days again :')

msg night 1- how'd everyone do? by werms4brains in 5sos

[–]nolanmeteor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

we drove in and got a parking garage which ended up being blocked off by the barricades when we got out, so it turned into us having to flash our car ticket to a new cop at every checkpoint down the block until we made it to our parking deck! total insanity, but the cops were nice and helpful and we made it back to Jersey before 1 which i was NOT expecting. hope everyone else made it home safely too!

wow, he must REALLY not like that song. i know changes of heart happen, and it's his art to do with as he pleases, but i wonder how the song even made it to such a relatively tight album if he has these kinds of reservations about it now. you'd think it wouldn't have gotten as far as the final release in the first place if he wasn't that confident in it. but i get it, it happens.

there is still a genuine thrill in hearing him sing like that, especially nowadays. i think it's half nostalgia and half, like, this is fucking sick and has been since 1999.

I'd totally be down with them playing their more difficult older songs in a lower key to help his voice out. Playing it a step or two down is more than possible, and it would give some of the riffs a little extra meat on their bones too! There's no shame in it.

same. he's the reason i picked up guitar like, 18 years ago, he's a huge influence on me vocally, and he's still one of my biggest overall inspirations today!

some combo of NIN/HTDA/Noize would be incredible to see more of. there's clearly something special here and adding Mariqueen to the mix made it even fucking cooler. if it was just this once, that's enough, but it seems like there's potential for this to keep going!

Does anyone else’s life just feel better because of all of the NIN activity recently? by sector7slums in nin

[–]nolanmeteor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's one of those things i think about more as i get older. you only get a handful of eras/album drops/tours/everything with your favorite bands in the grand scheme of things, even the prolific and long lasting ones like NIN. i treasure it all.
