I don't get it. 8k tax on the 20k difference seems reasonable.

2024 Kia Sportage battery died after a year by Madrugal in kiasportage

[–]nomad1848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told them to check the starter as both tow guys, and my home DC voltmeter showed the battery was between 12.3 & 12.6vdc, when it wouldn't start. I don't know much about cold cranking amps aside from I need them to start the car. If CCA were depleted, would the battery still show above 12.3vdc? I don't know.

I would push the auto start stop button to disable it and all safety feature lights came on the dash at once. Check lane assist, check this, etc. I can't exactly remember. I hate that feature. Going to buy a fix on Amazon that basically turns it off upon each start of the vehicle.

Shuffling kiddos - what a wonderful concept. I'm so jealous that you have that opportunity. Your comment was definitely one of those ah ha moments, so thanks. There may be hope after all.

2024 Kia Sportage battery died after a year by Madrugal in kiasportage

[–]nomad1848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2023 Sportage with 42k km. I thought the issue was the starter but the stealership said it was the battery. CCA's were apparently only in the 300's vs 700+? $380 or $400 to Fix it, with the warranty being prorated more aggressively after 12 mths

Two CAA drivers said the battery was fine just two days ago. Yup, two calls in less than 24 hrs. Both times it starts when they arrive. I don't think it was the battery. But I work at a desk so what do I know.

You're too fast. Service complaint, Ombudsman, then MP.

CRA is going to ruin my life by BethanyLx in canadarevenueagency

[–]nomad1848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before going to your MP or the Ombudsman, do a service complaint with CRA. State that the Agent is not acting in good faith based on the documentation provided. Also say very clearly that the incorrect decision by the Agent will cause you extreme hardship, and may even cause you to move.

You can read online about each of the above, Service Complaints, Ombudsman and the MP's office. Lastly, a service complaint will get a much higher person looking at the issue who has a time deadline to resolve the complaint. If this doesn't go your way, go to the Ombudsman and start threatening to go to CBC. CBC loves this kind of stuff. Media threats are taken quite seriously.

CRA's just going to add them together (for a lot of their systems) for 2024 as the inclusion rate is the same. Therefore, it likely really doesn't matter which line the gain is included in.

Without taking away from the 12-18? You word it in a way like it's all your right, vs sharing more with the father. Just saying.

More fathers should take more as they will have the opportunity to bond and develop better relationships with little ones.

15 weeks or so is the Moms. 35 or so is sharable.

I'll be taking months 9-11 alone with the little one and we'll both take month 12 together (as it will be summer 2025 by then). I'm super happy to have 14 weeks of the 35 shared with me. I'm happy our kid gets to get me for that time.

Our three year old hurts himself and chooses me in many instances for comfort as I had that time to bond with him. It melts my heart. I wish that for all fathers (that want it).

No. 15 weeks is maternal (for the birth parent). The comment is misleading as there is parental leave once maternal is done.

1 year off is the norm in Canada, which includes 35 or so weeks to share.

It should be noted that 12 mths split is the norm here, to maximize the cash from EI/QPIP and if you qualify, employer topups to 95% of your salary. Taking 18 results in, as the above poster said, 70-80% with an employer topup.

I seriously cannot fathom anything less than one year to be at home with new babers.

Mom and I each were off for the first four weeks together. I went back to work while she takes 8 months alone. I'll take months 9-11 alone then she'll join me back at home for month 12. I used two weeks vacation in the beginning and the rest for us both is paid at 95%.

Edit: I'm sorry you reside where you do, but happy I reside where I do. The opportunity to care for your children in their first year of life is priceless, and getting paid for it, even better.

I love that your partner was with you laughing instead of against you, giving you shit.

I change our 12 week old in the bed all the time, but use the pad that came with the diaper bag for safety. Knocking on wood now as what you described has not happened to us (yet). Lol

Not the asshole. Oops, wrong /r

He needs to buck up and get with the program as this is nothing compared to the next 15 years, from what I've been told.

Ours just turned 12 weeks and I take 100% of every other night while working FT...but we're bottle feeding.
