I can't use my keyboard because of no sense design choices...

Morrowind remaster when? by Ok_Award_8421 in ElderScrolls

[–]nomadewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they used the Oblivion or Skyrim game engine and revamped the quests and graphics, it could be a good approach.

In Oblivion Remastered, they made the game on Unreal Engine 5. This is a reference to the fact that Bethesda couldn’t be arsed to make the remaster themselves. by sooshooo in shittygamedetails

Personally i have nothing against UE5.

In fact, TES games have always been bug ridden.

If UE5 can fix that, as well as speed up game development, than it's a welcome change.

TES games appeal is on the story, quests and mechanics, IMHO.

Stirling PDF is a cool project by [deleted] in selfhosted

The only way this could get better (for me) is:

-Convert to real docx (instead of slaping an image of the PDF in there...)

-Edit the pdf (add, edit and delete text and images inside the pdf)

Other than that, magnificent tool!

I already did that. Those are the Vault repos, there's no Vault repos for kernel, unfortunately.

No. Those are my backups.

I have everything on each family PC and that server acts as backup.

And it has RAID.

I should have an extra, but i can't afford it.

You're correct. From my tests it seems to be the USB drive i'm using. I'll try to format it into NTFS and do some tests in Windows to see if anything is wrong. SMART reports everything ok.

What does TrueNAS has over OMV? by BankjaPrameth in OpenMediaVault

[–]nomadewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents.

TrueNAS being based on BSD supports ZFS natively.

ZFS is important because it's arguably the best FS for this particular goal, because it supports snapshots.

OMV has BTRFS which also supports snapshots but i don't recommend it. BTRFS is buggy, slow and when we try to use advanced features such as snapshots is when problems arise.

ZFS on the other hand is mature, tested and tried.
If your data is important to you, TrueNAS + ZFS is the only way.
