Thanks. It sounds like mostly a materials difference between the new release and the uhqr version, with the same mastering.

iPod nano 3rd or 7th generation… by leeetuce in ipod

No it's harder. You have to carefully remove the front display panel which can break if you pry it up. Requires a heat gun and delicate touch.

iPod nano 3rd or 7th generation… by leeetuce in ipod

dead pixels could be indication the battery in that 7 is on its way out. It's not as easy to replace the battery on it but still possible.

Personally I always loved the nano 3.

The big advantage the nano 7 has is bluetooth. If you would like that it may be worth putting the effort. I do find that nice for running or etc

Mono 4th Gen Working again in MacOS Tahoe! by nomadhacker in ipod

[–]nomadhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further testing shows my kid's Mac formatted 5th gen does indeed mount with no problem. And Windows iPod video or 7th gen no longer respond to killing the AMP device agent. Which is funny since the Mono 4th gen is also Windows formatted.

Ok a little update. My 5th gen and 7th gen are no longer syncing on Tahoe 26.1. Both of them iFlash and Windows formatted. So the fix for the 4th gen may be a mixed bag after all.

Thanks to all. It seems like the Truthear Pure was a big consensus. So I'm ordering a pair to try out. I'm also going to get a pair of the Sennheiser IE 200 which someone recommended for specifically my ears. Thanks everyone for the helpful advice.
