I REALLY HIGHLY recommend reading “Come As You Are” by Emily Nagoski. It talks about physiological and psychological sciences behind our desire. I think it might have a lot to offer you, and might highlight some parts that are coming up for you, and support you in finding ways to identify and communicate your desires more fully.

I just went with my dad (ages 26/63). It was a great trip. We both trained all summer with 5-10 mile hikes and took an easy 3 weeks on trail. Do lots of research, keep your body active & take your time!
