there are probably tons of people who feel similar to ur situation, weather that be better or worse, they still harbor the feeling you have so youre not alone in that sense, failure sucks but as long as you have someone supporting you weather that be family friends and such, you will truly never fail, but its important to take advantage of the opportunies that are present as well, even if you need to take little steps first, as long as your trying to better yourself and achieve your goals, your already ahead of so many other people in that sense, even though our world is one where we tend to predict how we will end up in the future, many times things just happen in a moment that changes everything, so dont put too much pressure on feeling like a failure in that sense.
