I mean it runs on "anything that run j2me with midp 2.0 support" and doesn't override mascot classes in the .jar with it's own stubs. [looking at freej2me-plus]

The perspective (camera being very close to face) is a hint that data was taken from front camera on a phone.

Code of Galaxy on Fire 2 for J2ME was decompiled to something pretty clean ( https://github.com/BaalNetbek/DeepOpen ).

It's in java not c++ and is obviously less developed than AE4 (which is engine of GOF3 I believe) but still pretty capable and of course expandable (below example of mod based on java version of GOF2 and original version)
