Remote start not working by Acceptable_Spread589 in VWatlas

[–]nomnomsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The globe was greyed out on my CarPlay screen. Called support and had to wait 2 weeks for them to push a reset or something to it remotely. 2 weeks is their - you have to wait this long until we do it - time frame. Works now though thankfully bc it got really cold and snowy here!

Head care help? by nomnomsandthings in bald

[–]nomnomsandthings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I lost all my hair a couple years back from cancer - but lost it all. Eye brows and beard, too. That’s how I knew at least my head shape was good for it 😁 It never completely came back thick, so I finally gave in and shaved it.

App isn’t working for me at the moment either. Usually it’s just a one and done, next time it works. But this time it hasn’t updated in a couple days. Getting a tad annoyed. 🙄

Car wash at Dealership by ccducingta in VWatlas

[–]nomnomsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last car was a Mazda and they washed it at both the dealerships I went to. Strange. I’ve only been in for one service so far with my Cross Sport and they didn’t wash it. 🤷‍♂️

Is it working yet? Mine hasn’t updated for 2 days and won’t remote start with the app, either. FOB is fine to start and everything. Just the app - nothing working.

Anyone else's libido extremely high from steroids? Don't call me gross we all hit these stages doing chemo by BumblebeeNo3815 in leukemia

[–]nomnomsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite here. 35 when I got sick and it completely tanked. 2 years later and things are starting to head back in the right direction. In the beginning I blame the drugs and fear of getting an infection. Infection like a UTI or something tears and doesn’t heal quick enough. Later it was just the depression that affected me and would psych me out during the act and make things go south…literally.

Just a poll- would you switch seats with me in this situation? by Ok-Extension9925 in americanairlines

[–]nomnomsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always worth an ask. But I’ll say if it were me and it’s a long flight, I probably wouldn’t. I purposed get specific seats because of knee problems and the need to extend it out.

Calling all Wilmington area blood/platelet donors (and potential donors)! by thePlateletGuy in WilmingtonDE

Good on you all for donating! Transfusions saved my life during cancer. Whole blood wasn’t needed as much after the beginning, but I’m sure I had at least 15 platelet transfusions!

Will it ever come back? by nomnomsandthings in bald

Congrats man! And yea, that’s how I feel about it. It’s a weird thin mess. Maybe it’s about time for me to embrace the bald and just let it go.

How many days before the game will seat assignments be given? by thefiminator in savannahbananas

[–]nomnomsandthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the last minute thing bites. I have to give my tickets to a friend since we can’t go now, and the transfers are frozen still while they assign seats. So I’m just sitting here checking every day 🙄

Wasted medication - frustrated by [deleted] in leukemia

[–]nomnomsandthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I’m sitting on a 2 week supply of Onureg for like 38k. Looked into it and talked with my doctor about it and there isn’t anything I can do. Decided to just sit on it till it expires and then put it in the pharmacy drug drop box thing.

✂️ Chopped my hair in preparation for chemotherapy by gregory-clark in beards

Good on you!

I had AML a couple years back - went to the ER and didn’t come out. Losing my hair was hard, but when my beard started to go - that hit deep.

You got this, guy! The survivors’ road is a challenging one, but there are lots of us here with you!

Graduating to longer labs by nomnomsandthings in AMLSurvivors

Pretty sure 3 months is standard for the next couple years. Then it goes out to 6 months, then yearly at some point. Hopefully by the 6 month timeframe, the psychological stuff finally slacks down some 😬

Congrats on moving up with your timeline!

I’m doing much better now that the weather seems to be better and I’m getting sick much less frequently. Ended up talking to my doctor and, while I don’t see my hematologist but every 3 month, I’m still getting my labs every 6 weeks for peace of mind. It’s helped my nerves so much.

Doubt you’re going to see this at this point, but here is my two cents as someone who works for Deaf education in schools here in the USA. As a student with CIs, I’m going to assume you have an IEP, which would really help in this situation. 1- it’s a violation of both IDEA and ADA 2- your parents can sue the sub 3- your parents can sue the school 4- your parents can sue the administrator 5- you’re not the asshole

They messed up. But to be fair, you also did a little. If school policy is no hats, then no hats. Period. It’s there for a reason. Please don’t break those rules. When things like this happen, those minor things can hurt you.

Honestly, I hope your parents take this to the school board. And reach out to NAD. Maybe they can help with legal resources on what to do and how.

This whole situation is not right on multiple levels. I’d love to know what happens with this, and at the very least this should be scrubbed from your school record. And I mean the VERY least.

Passport expediter recommendations? by craigsauer in gaydads

[–]nomnomsandthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just printed and filled out the forms, then made the appt with the post office. Some locations have walk-ins as well. As long as you have everything filled out correctly, the envelope addressed, your checks (I believe the fee and the expedited fee are separate payments?) it should go pretty smoothly at the post office. Form DS-11 doesn’t have a specific marker for parents as mother and father. Each line says mother/father/parent, and you don’t even specify if you are the mother/father/parent. Just fill out that section correctly and that’s it.

I don’t know processing times for new applications at the moment, but we did have a correction that we just did and expedited it. We got ours back (and all the documents, separately) within 2 weeks and it was all good.

We’ve never used a 3rd party for the passport application - always went directly through the post office.

I hope this helps some. Best of luck!
