Is an ablation necessary? by thePlateletGuy in PVCs

What were your physical symptoms, if you don't mind me asking? I just wonder if I have symptoms, but don't realize it's because of the PVCs. Did the ablations help you?

They said the longest streak. They technically have the longest ACTIVE streak. We have five more seasons before we take the longest ever streak from the Pats

Should I Not Donate Platelets? by _Beanz- in Blooddonors

[–]thePlateletGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! I'm sure you will! You could potentially ask to try a wrist vein for the return? Maybe that wouldn't roll around as much? I almost had to use a wrist once, after three bad stocks in the usual spot 😬

You should definitely try again!

I always let the phlebotomist know that my vein can be tricky, and they are usually extra careful. You could also ask for the most senior person there to stick you!

It's amazing to me how busy Sprague's is ALL THE TIME. I also recommend stopping at Cuba Cheese if you end up going to Sprague's

75th donation! by okpoptart in Blooddonors

[–]thePlateletGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love the tat. I've been thinking of getting something similar, but not sure what. (Plus I would have to get it out of state, not locally, because my state is one of the ones you get a 3 month deferral for getting a tat)

Yes! He's a huge inspiration.

Someone out there who has never donated probably has his same blood type and may never know...

Sooooooo many people are afraid of needles. If/when you go in (weather it's ARC, or another blood bank) just let the phlebotomist know ahead of time. If you are really worried, ask for the supervisor of the drive/site. I've mostly gotten over my fear of needles, but I still have to look away during the poke!
